Along with the return of the Gree Event to live servers, we also have several new items available in the game. Among these are the Contraband Resale Corporation items, a mix of old and new items available for reputation. For the item sets, hit the jump.
Contraband Resale Corporation
This is a new reputation faction, and it appears to be linked exclusively to the Cartel Market. Reputation items can be gained through the new Cartel Packs, and the items require Cartel Market Certifications, which are also presumably gained via the Cartel Packs. I'll have more information up as I come across it.
Contraband Resale Vendor
These items represent popular Cartel Market items being offered separately for credits and Cartel Market Certifications.

Contraband Embargo Vendor
These are items that are no longer being sold on the Cartel Market, but are available for credits and Cartel Market Certifications.

Contraband Reputation Items
This vendor is linked to the reputation for the new Contraband Resale Corporation faction, and offers a few gear sets, as well as a new mount.

Posted 3/14/2013 8:17:45 PMSo my Revan's Mask that is currently right below 5mil creds on GTN will sell for 100k creds from one of these vendors? WTF?!

Posted 3/14/2013 8:38:19 PMYeah, but keep in mind that it also requires 10 Cartel Market Certifications, and they have a pretty low droprate from the new Contraband packs. Someone would probably have to spend quite a bit to get the CMC's they need to purchase it for 100k. Since they're currently Bind on Pickup, and the only change really is going to make them Bind on Legacy, the cost would be pretty high to obtain it from the vendor.

Posted 3/12/2013 9:29:28 PMSeems a nice solution for those who were opening many packs but not getting anything they wanted. Though I am confused by (based on comments) the certs & rep tokens having such a low droprate.

Posted 3/12/2013 6:53:06 PMCan anyone confirm that cartel market certifications are obtained from cartel packs? Are there any other ways either to obtain these commendations or just to increase reputation other than buying hundreds of packs?
Edit: 3 Packs and no certifications, I will have to wait to next month... It seems they have a rather low drop rate (or I'm just pretty unlucky)

Posted 3/12/2013 7:22:45 PMCartel Market Certifications are obtained by opening Cartel Packs, and they are bound to the character that receives them via opening the pack. However, looking at this:
http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=5985518#edit5985518
It looks like they're probably going to change at least the BoP aspect of them. So, pop over to that thread and let them know what you think.

Posted 3/12/2013 7:45:52 PMYou won't be able to buy Cartel Market Certs on the GTN as they are bind on pickup. But again, looking at the feedback, that's likely to change. Though, I suppose you could roll the dice on a Contraband pack, which you certainly could purchase via the GTN.

Posted 3/14/2013 10:48:25 AMUsing their monthly sub allotment would take at least 2 years before you could achieve max rep status. Probably far longer than that. Especially considering once they take away this particular shipment, they'll just institute a new one with a brand new reputation faction. Poor excuse for justification.

Posted 3/14/2013 4:30:15 PMall the items that you get with the rep vendor are retired cartel market items you can also get them on the GTN. Bioware isn't forcing you to buy them they only encouraging you.

Posted 3/15/2013 5:00:17 PMLike I said. Terrible justification.
Also, the Contraband Resale Corp (i.e. BK-0 gear, etc.) are all new armor models, not retired CM items.

Posted 3/15/2013 6:03:47 PMEverything about the new reputation and vendor are entirely, 100% optional. As I've said a few times before, I can understand being upset at not being able to max all reps under your own power; but again, maxing this reputation out gives you no access to any real power, nor does it confer to you any particular advantage against those that choose not to buy them.

Posted 3/16/2013 9:40:59 PMMy argument doesn't have anything to do with power. It has to do with content. With this new reputation (and brand new armor models), Bioware has essentially said that people who pay their subscription aren't giving them enough money for ALL content. It also further solidifies the argument that the money they make from the Cartel Market isn't turned back into content for the game, as opposed to more content for the Cartel Market. Let's put it this way. Why doesn't 2.0 have separate gear sets for separate Advanced Classes? Mercs and PTs share the same gear styles. Why can't they offer up different armor models for each of the Advanced Classes if they can churn out all of these unique armor models for the CM?
And whether the rep is optional or it is not optional is not the argument. Let's put it this way, the Gree reputation is optional as well. But at least it's there as content. This is only optional because you either want to hand over hundreds of dollars or you don't. It's a garbage system.
And, just so we're aware, it's also another step in paving the way for P2W. While there is no power gained from these items, it's just another step in the conditioning process.

Posted 3/16/2013 10:49:08 PMI think counting the proverbial eggs before they've hatched in 2.0 is a bit premature. I'm obviously not saying that there is definitely anything else that we haven't seen; there very well may not be. Obviously we disagree with the direction this is taking, though I fully respect your opinion. After all, we're all entitled to one. I don't think I'm willing to call new armor on the Cartel Market or from the CRC Vendors content though; again, it's there for people that choose to put money into it. I agree that it's possible that this system could condition people for P2W, but I think that it's a bit premature to say that that's definitely where it's headed. Thanks for posting, enjoyed reading as usual.

Posted 3/17/2013 12:59:34 AMSo you're completely okay with the fact that there hasn't been a new set of armor introduced to the game that isn't a reskin or recolor despite the fact that there have been brand new armor models introduced to the CM? To me, the focus has easily become the Cartel Market and the Cartel Packs in particular.
Also, it's not premature to say it's headed in that direction. First were crystals with end game stats for purchase. Then there were Grade 7 ship parts. Now there's a reputation built entirely around throwing extra money at Bioware.
And whether you want to call new armor content is entirely up to you. But if that's the case, the three Rep factions outside of the Gree can't be called content either. Meaning your last major content update involved an event that is recurring and not static. Also what I've seen them introduce is 1 brand new speeder(?) model to the game and 2 new ones to the Cartel Market. That's just with this last patch. That doesn't include brand new armor models that could have been attached to a reputation in game. Once again. What are you getting for your money as a subscriber? Where is the new content? All I see is Bioware saying "Give us more money because your subscription isn't good enough."
