Poll: What area of the game are you dedicating yourself to?

The question that boggles the mind of casuals and hardcore alike, "What do I wish to do once I am max level?"

[poll id="4"]

It seems from what we are told, is that the PvE (Player Vs Environment) content will be stuffed full of shiney exploding goodness, but we have not been told much about the PvP (Player Vs Player). Will the raiding be enough to keep the hardcore players playing the content weekly, or are they looking to push them to do the, GASP, WoW thing, where you roll an alt when you get to bored. But I am not afraid to roll an alt, knowing that we are being given 200+ hours of story per class, but I do want some end game raiding And with the recent information given to us at Comic-Con, it appears classes will be able to get alignment towards the Light Side, and the Dark Side, for new abilities and what not, which could add more bulk and time to the story.

The the PvP comes in, "What if I want to PvP and not reroll? Will I be forced to reroll due to lack of people or objectives to complete?"

I do not think we need to worry, as interviews have stated, "This is Star WARS" So I am comfortable with myself knowing that BioWare is working on giving us a great PvP experience, the real question is, "What depth of conflict?" Many questions are out there and we are waiting for them to be answered, will there be PvP Planets? Objectives? Quests? Special Abilities? Titles gained through PvP? Vehicles? Spac---, nope, won't be opening that Pandora's Box. Time will tell, time will also answer these questions. I am sure BioWare will show us all these in due time, and we will all be happy.

I've always been a PVE man, PVP really has never particularly interested me for some reason. I've always enjoyed games where other people were working with you instead of against you.

I'm a big world PvP fan myself, but if arenas dominate I may have to go with the more PvE route.

Hoping it is more world PVP along with the player Bounty System would make for a really good world PVP set.

Thats exactly what I am looking for.. I want it to be kinda like SWG had in it, with player towns that you can invade, etc... BUT I want to be able to have player Bounties. THAT is what is most important. Man I can't count the number of times that my guild spent in SWG raiding player cities and cantinas just making people come out to fight.

PVP and PVE raid content will probably be what I end up staying for.

I'm a hardcore casual. I play a lot and I accomplish my goals rather quickly; but, I find myself getting bored with certain content very quickly: Raid and PvP.

I like to go on raids just to experience the content and enjoy myself. I like to feel the atmosphere of the dungeon, experience the boss fights, and learn the story of the zone. I'm not a fan of spending several hours, week after week, in the same dungeon with the sole purpose of farming loot. In the end, completing each raid dungeon once is enough to keep me satisfied.

The same is true for PvP; I want to experience the content, learn the objectives, and do my part to help my faction succeed. I PvP for fun. I do not PvP as a means to grind for gear. I do not PvP as a means of flexing my e-peen. Usually, however, I just play some Team Fortress 2 for my PvP fix (at least a dozen reasons why TF2>MMO PVP).

I love progressing through a story. I love when the story brings me to a dungeon or raid. I love role playing by myself like I am 8 years old again with my G.I. Joes. I love pretending (for example) that my rogue is an important S.I. 7 operative or that my Mage is on a very important mission from the Kirin Tor. I love being knowledgeable of game mechanics. I love being the eccentric go to guy that people/guilds go to when they need a temp for their dungeon/raid/pvp endeavor. I love obtaining resources and trade skills that people need. I love finding hard to obtain vanity items (treasure hunting). I love getting random funny whispers from people upon logging in. I love being that skilled guy in mediocre/poor gear (as long as I look good doing it).

Most importantly, I like being able to be myself and able to do what I want, when I want, solo or not. That being said, I voted for PvE.

I play MMOs to PvP, that being said I can't or won't always PvP. PvE has to be in a game to keep my interest. That being said, PvE will be a big part of my game play and PvP the time I used to scratch that itch that needs scratching.

In SWG I never PvE'd, I never seen SWG as a PvE game mainly because pior to the CU/NGE there wasn't much to PvE other then Night Sisters or that elusive Dark Jedi Master. I spent almost all my time in SWG killing Jedi, me being a deadly Bounty Hunter, it's how I made my millions without being a merchant type character and it kept me oh so happy too.

I kind of wish player bounties would be in TOR, but it is looking more and more likely that it will not make it to the final product. That being said, my PvP itch will most likely be in game, I just hope it's not in the form of arena's like WOW, I played WOW too and arenas is not to be considered PvP at all. Not when you've experienced PvP in the real sense of the word, like base/city raids in SWG corporation battle fields in Eve Online.

Time will tell, but even if PvP sucks in TOR, I have no doubt that PvE will keep my interest in TOR for many month. BioWare are good story tellers and I have faith that will translate well into a well rounded PvE game.

I think having a good player bounty system will make or break the Bounty Hunter class for me since that will be what I will primarily be playing it for, so I am crossing my fingers on that one.

The thing is, all the little details count when it comes to end game. I know people who got bored of WoW, and ended up still playing just so that they could play on the auction house, or walk around chatting with friends. They didn't seriously play the game, but they had fun with meta-games.

I'm guilty of this as well. I've logged on to WoW just to mess around with the UI. I don't even bother playing, I just like to see what possible things I can do with the interface :p.

The thing people keep forgetting is that Bioware have been able to see what works, and what doesn't. Whether we like it or not, they are going to take the information from previous MMOs (especially WoW) and they will make sure they take the good stuff and try to leave the bad :).

Obviously the challenge is then to somehow make sure the "good" stuff that players like fits in with the Star Wars lore and theme. I'm not too worried at the moment though!

Good job Sleeper, your making me think about stuff. My biggest worry is if "the raiding be enough to keep the hardcores playing the content weekly" <---That group will only log in for the raids or if other stuff will exist so they will still be around when outside of raids. (standing in a city afk for hours does not count)

Poll added to the article, ill probably be doing mainly pvp but some pve raid content as well.

Oh and to answer the question posed in the title, I will dabble in everything and do what I like the most more often.
