Creature Handler seen in Coruscant Developer Dispatch?

Update after the jump

It's a bit too early to tell on this but it is quite interesting the way that this NPC seen in the Coruscant developer dispatch video seems to have control over this creature:

This is obviously pure speculation right now but this is the first time that we have seen a creature in close proximity to an NPC or player without them fighting it at the time almost as if it were the person's creature. I can't wait to get my hands on the high-res version of the video to get a better look at this in the future.
Update: Earlier today, BioWare released a high def version of the developer dispatch and we were able to get a closer look at the mystery creature we noticed last week. While this single, still image isn't enough for any conclusive evidence, we believe that it most resembles a "narglatch". The general body shape combined with the tail and, what appears to be a crest points us to this conclussion. Of course this is all speculation, but here are a few images to compare:

I think that another important point is that this beastie certainly isn't native to Coruscant... it had to have come here with its owner. If we saw this on Onderan (where the wild things are) then it would be more easily dismissed as almost certainly an NPC.

could just be a quest-giver with a pet that you need to go into the sewers and kill 20 rats until you get enough rat meat for him to give you 500xp and 50 credits.

creature handler , idk that class doesnt sound iconoic but it reminds of that fat guy who cried when luke killed the rancor.

You didn't play SWG I take it? Creature Handler was a class in SWG(pre-NGE). Basically it was like Hunter from WoW, except with more focus on your pet. They could tame damned near any creature in the game, which made for a lot of variety. And yes, Malakili from RotJ was one inspiration for him. :)

i did know it was a class in SWG i just dont like it it feels uniconic to me.

either way it was fun & added variety.

I only dabbled w/ it just to get a creature i could ride. But i remember the first time i saw some guy w/ rancors outside a cantina & i didn't know what CH was, i thought i was going to get eaten alive lol.

That's why it was scrapped when the NGE hit and SWG got dropped down to 9 Iconicâ„¢ Classes. But I liked the idea of Creature Handler. Plus it worked well with Bio-Engineering, where a BE could make a pet for a CH. But I do see what you mean about it as an Iconicâ„¢ class in TOR. I don't see Creature Handler being a class in TOR.

Theoretically I could imagine a Beast Lord class though, like the Beast Lords of Onderon. But a class for TOR based just on a single group of people on a single obscure planet? Probably wouldn't work.

But certain NPCS can be creature handlers just not a playable class.

Man that makes alot of sence actually, beastmastery was very popular in WoW, perhaps this will be implemented as a class in TOR?? But ya lets not get too carried away here, its just one photo, most likely an NPC, not a player.

    p.s. swoop bike! soo excited

Maybe it's just one of the wild creatures that rove the lower areas of Coruscant. Giant rats and such ya know? Maybe this is one of those that doesn't aggro, just roams around until players attack it.

Ha, I feel like we're analyzing security cam footage now. And my vote is swoop, that's definitely what it looks like to me.

Same, just waiting on the higher res video to confirm that and a couple other things seen in the video.

Whats the thing next to the guy that stands to the left of the creature guy?

Looks like some swoop bike, possibly an older version, or maybe a futuristic floor buffer. Too hard to tell for me at this point.

If it's a swoop bike, bad parking spot. If it's a floor buffer "Stop chattin' and get back to work!"
