Lore Update: The Seswenna Sector

During the Battle of Bothawui timeline video, Bioware mentioned that the Sith had taken the Seswenna Sector in the Outer Rim. Although nothing has been confirmed as to whether any planets in this sector will be in-game, let's explore the lore behind this sector and see if we can pick out a few important planets.

Background

The Seswenna Sector is located in the Outer Rim Territories at the intersection of the Rimma Trade Route and the Hydian Way. This sector notably contains the planets Eriadu and Sesweena. As mentioned during the video, the Sith Empire conquered the entire Seswenna Sector during the Great Galactic War. The conquest of the Seswenna Sector made Republic citizens and soldiers lose all hope in the Republic's survival until the Battle of Bothawui.

Eriadu

Eriadu sat on the intersection of the Rimma Trade Route, the Hydian Way, the Lipsec Run, and the Yankirk Route. This made Eriadu one of the most active trade centers in the Outer Rim, therefore making it the primary world in the Seswenna sector. It was for this reason that it was an important sector to capture for the Sith Empire.

Eriadu's urban sector was in a constant state of growth as a result of the government attempting to match Coruscant in sheer scope. This caused the planet surface and atmosphere to be severely polluted. Notable cities included Eriadu City, Phelar and Old Town Factoryville. Eriadu was orbited by one moon, many small shipyards, and several orbital habitats.

Seswenna

Little is known about Seswenna besides that it was the original sector capital, but lost its political and economic dominance to Eriadu as a result of the remapping of the Hydian Way.

The Seswenna Sector is unique in that it is the first sector to be mentioned by Bioware. Whether this means that the sector is relevant to The Old Republic or it is simply an unexplored region to provide lore for, remains a mystery. However, Bioware is known to drop subtle hints about gameplay elements. So, only time will tell as to whether this sector will be apart of our universe or simply forgotten.
