According to Kotaku, the Australian Office of Film and Literature Classification (OFLC) has a new listing for an upcoming Star Wars title that has yet to be announced dubbed "Star Wars: Legends". No one knows as to what exactly it is but what we do know so far is that the game is rated M (recommended for a mature audience, fantasy violence) which doesn't suggest the rumored 'casual Star Wars mmo' mentioned earlier and it is being developed in house at LucasArts with Activision as the publisher. Unless more content surfaces before December 12th the next time we will hear about it will be on the Spike VGAs, where the game was originally to debut.
Update: So much for Star Wars Legends, the new game is Unleashed 2.
Activision publishing the game means nothing. They always publish LA developed games outside the US (EU, AU, Asia).
The M rating is from the AUSTRALIAN Classification Board. Search for The Force Unleashed there. It also has an M rating. For moderate violence instead of fantasy violence mentioned for Legends, but still. That doesn't mean that LucasArts wouldn't make an M rated Star Wars game. One of the concepts before they developed TFU, was for a game called Jedi Master, that was going to have an M rating.
I honestly wish it would be Star Wars Republic commando 2.... its not the typical jedi/force user crap that has been used in dozens of games, instead you get to be a badass commando... cant really beat being a clone commando in a single player imo :) though sadly i if the name truly is SW: legends, i dont think it will be RC 2.... the title just doesnt fit for it
Well it could be a inspired sequel to the force unleashed. Instead of making a game based just on Starkiller they could be making a anthology of stories based on all of the major characters in star wars. But it also does make sense that it could be a star wars ultimate alliance type game.
Plenty of EU authors have done a great job of making the Star Wars universe a dark and very dangerous place and they did it without making it "mature" in terms of ratings. Star Wars does not need that IMHO.
