I found a youtube video where they explained that some sheided targets, the ones that have the blue circles around them when using your blasters, will take 20 missles to kill.  They were doing the cartel listening station at the time.

Does anyone know if this is the standard number of missles for shielded targets or just that one?

Do we need 1.21 gigawatts to do space flights?

Where does one buy this thing you call a Power Converter?

Just wanted to say you missed THE most important controls in space combat -- Holding down W or S will position your ship above or below your reticle respectively.  This makes it so you can navigate the tight spaces more easily and avoid head-on blaster fire without losing your target.  I am beginning to think I am the only person who knows about this...

Good tip, this was news to me!

Until they come up with something other than a single player kiddie railshooter, more or less indentical to what SOEs F2P kiddie MMO clone wars adventures has, and some say has it better, I will spend 0 time in "space".

Oh, and btw the same SOE kiddie MMO, that is free, did I mention that, has multi-track, multi-planet, multi-player swoop bike racing.

I am hopeful for their secret project.

Great news! You don't have to play it if you don't like it.

What you should get used to as early as possible is using keyboard movement: up/down/left/right works in space too, use it to dodge asteroids and ships while shooting.

Important. Sado, use keyboard movements to avoid heavy damage while still dishing out the punishment. It makes runs at capital ships and stations a relatively low damage affair.

    Nice little guide.

Btw there is no point in having the crafting materials in your inventory as they can still be accessed through the cargo hold when you send your crew to craft stuff.

I just wish the space combat missions was allot harder.... Right now I can compleat all the objectives in most maps with 1.5 minutes to spare.

At least give me more commendations for doing that ><

Hey Sado - You should REALLY invest in a Power Converter for fleet commendations.

It allows you to redirect power on your ship to either shield or laser blasters (or not redirect at all, but that's just as usual).

When you power blasters, they hit pretty hard and targets go down much easier than normal. Likewise, if you find a few seconds of relative peace, boosting shield generators means superfast regen on that, but somewhat laughable blaster damage (but if you're firing blasters, shields regen slower anyways, so don't!).

This means you can play more tactically and get targets down faster.

I also think you should emphasize the consequences of taking out turrets on attacking capital ships early, since this means that they cannot fire on you/the shuttle you're supposed to escort for the rest of the mission.

Also note that while you may not be able to get missile locks on targets like turrets or other things, you can still fire lasers at them at great distances and still take some out way way ahead of time for easier flying later in the mission.
