Given that a greater amount of players are now level 50 and spending additional time with Crew Skills, maps and guides to gathering node locations are becoming more important. When starting new alts to farm gathering materials for Crew Skills, resource maps can be extremely useful in speeding the rate of acquisition for raw components. Our intention is to begin assisting the hunting-gathering player base with a means of locating and identifying all known nodes on each of the planets. We will begin with the Bioanalysis nodes on Dromund Kaas, proceeding world-by-world from there. As the project expands into other areas, we will keep a single post as a log of all of the subsequent articles for our gathering fiends.
For now though, hit the jump for our Dromund Kaas Bioanalysis node guide.
Guide
Dromund Kaas is the first of the Empire faction planets in which the Crew Skills come into play. Here, you will be able to pick up your Bioanalysis gathering skill from the Bioanalysis trainer Merrish Kran at coordinates 39, 58. Alternatively, you can pick up the gathering skill from the trainer on the Imperial fleet. Once trained, players can make their way to gather from the nodes listed below.
Nodes
Level of skill required to gather, name of node object (material gathered)
- 1, Dielectric Tendril (Dielectric Cell Fiber)
- 1, Green Deciduous Stem (Green Goo)
- 25, Bacterial Colony (Bacterial Strain)
- Mobs in the area can yield random materials, typically wildlife of strong or above.
Note: Some nodes may be missing from the map due to the way in which they spawn. As we find more in the future, we will continually update these guides.
Players should also remember that with multiple companions they can level their skills using gathering missions as well, though at a slower rate as compared to harvesting directly. Using both in conjunction will require the least amount of time invested.

You could event tint the map areas where those levels occur if it's anything over the standard range for the zone.

Posted 4/24/2012 6:37:39 PMAs far as Bioanalyzing creatures goes, you generally get the same grade of materials as the majority of the nodes in that part of the planet, and it seems to slightly favor samples over compounds when deciding what you get. As far as creatures within flashpoints, you'll get the same grade that you'd get on planets in the same level range.
