Welcome back to yet another installment of the Darth Hater PvP column, where we’ll collect and update the news about PvP that matters to the PvP community. This thread will be updated periodically as necessary throughout the week, so you can refer back to it for new information. Op-Ed: And then there were fewer
This week’s big news is the “forced server migration” or, as most people would call it, the server merges. There, I said the “m” word! Actually, I guess that migration also starts with “m”, but you get my meaning.
When an event this important happens to an MMO, it’s worth getting people’s reactions as they happen. While I hope that all goes smoothly today, it is possible that snags can be encountered. Character names (but not Legacy names) could be taken. Accounts temporarily have access to 12 character slots per server, but what happens if you have more than 12 characters being moved to a server? Of course, whenever character data is being moved, it is possible that stuff is missing or erroneous.
So, in the interest of posterity, I want to hear your server migration experiences! What was yours like? Did you hit any snags? How would you rate it overall? Leave me some comments and give me your general opinion in the poll below!
