Welcome to another edition of the Community Events Column! We have a lot of events for you this week, and they all sound like loads of fun. The Old Timers on The Shadowlands will be leading Republic players through the puzzle to get the +10 Fleet Datacron. Esoteric Order on Jung Ma is hosting two separate PvP events this weekend; a World PvP event and a 3v3 PvP Tournament. On The Red Eclipse, Alliance-Templars is hosting a “Social Spectacular,” a broad series of events designed to bring together the members of the server, no matter what type of gameplay they prefer. The Empire guild on The Ebon Hawk is running a battle royale with money and prizes up for grabs to the last fighter standing. Lastly, some intrepid players on Begeren Colony will be hosting a ‘Life Day’ celebration for all members of their server to attend. If you know of any other events or guilds you think I should highlight in future editions of this column, send me a message with the name of the event or guild and the contact information I will need, and it will be mentioned in the next column.
Events
+10 Datacron
The Shadowlands
Everyone loves going for the +10 Fleet Datacron. Who wouldn't want an additional ten points to all of their stats? Not to mention the puzzle itself is a blast. On December 16, The Old Timers guild will be leading all interested adventurers to get their Fleet Datacron at 5:00pm EST. If you are interested, meet them at the Museum on the Gav Daragon and they will lead you to the Datacron. All they ask is that you have the Blue Crystal before entering the hallway, otherwise it appears they will have everything else covered.
If you have questions about this event, you can ask the organizers at the forum listing or message the character Cynn’ra in game.
3v3 Tournament & World PvP event
Jung Ma
The guild Esoteric Order is hosting two separate PvP events this weekend on the Jung Ma server. The first event is a 3v3 PvP tournament on December 14 at 8:00pm EST. The second event is an open world PvP on December 16 at 8:00pmEST.
The first event will be at the Pit in Outlaw’s Den, and will require a 100,000 credit entry fee. All you need is a team of three players and the entry fee to join in the fun. Teams will be paired up based on random dice rolls, and when chosen, they will jump into the Pit and duke it out. The winners of each fight advance, while the losers will get a chance to fight among themselves. Winners of the event walk away with a percentage of the prize money, so make sure a lot of people show up! The rules are simple: no companions and no battle resurrection. Otherwise, anything goes.
The second event will be at Outpost Thorazan and the Czerka Mines (X -2331, Y 402) on Tatooine. This event has two parts to it. First, Republic Forces will have to defend Outpost Thorazan from the Empire, while the Empire will try to occupy it. Simultaneously, the Republic must protect one of their own in the Czerka mines against Imperial forces trying to capture or kill them. They will be shirtless and the name noted so Imperial forces will know who they are after.
The tournament post can be found here while the World PvP event can be foundhere, so be sure to stop by and check them out for yourselves.
Red Eclipse Server Social Spectacular
The Red Eclipse
December 20 will be a busy day on the Red Eclipse server. Alliance-Templars will be running a server wide Social Spectacular for all players on their server to enjoy. Originally put together on the Hydian Way server, they have decided to run this event again on their new home server. Events discussed so far include: Ugliest and Sexiest Avatar Contests, Star Wars Quiz, a Speeder Race, a Treasure Hunt, PvP Ladder Tournament, and a Guild vs. Guild PvP event. As the date nears, more details will be released, so be sure to check the topic frequently for updates for the location and the exact times. This sounds like it will be a blast, so be sure to check it out.
Royal Rumble PvP Tournament
The Ebon Hawk
The guild Empire on The Ebon Hawk will have a multi-round battle royale triple elimination tournament in the Outlaw’s Den at 9:00 pm EST on December 15. The fight itself will be limited to thirty participants, but will be a full free-for-all, with the last person standing taking home the pot: up to 1.5 million credits supplied by a 50,000 credit entry fee, as well as a bonus secret item donated by the organizers.
There are some limitations and restrictions. Concerning deaths; three deaths and you’re out, no matter how you die, including disconnections and other forces outside your control. Empire players can message Selene’Athena and Republic players can contact Keira’Athena to reserve your spot. Just send an in game mail with your entry fee and the name of the character that will be participating and its guild. Participants will be required to leave their guild during the tournament, cannot be grouped with anyone, and must remain in the fighting pit during the event or will be disqualified. The forum page is being updated with new information, so check it regularly.
Something Interesting
Life Day Celebration
Begeren Colony
Players on Begeren Colony are trying to get together on December 20 for a Life Day Celebration for people on their server. Suggestions so far consist of lighting fireworks, talking about your favorite spoiler-free moments in the game, and just getting together and hanging out with your fellow players. There is a debate going on in the forum post as to where it should be and what exactly to do. Head on over and offer your suggestions. This sounds like it could be very fun.
Poll
It looks like two thirds of you enjoy your community, that is certainly good news. For those of you who do not enjoy it, why is it? Is it a problem that can be fixed or at least alleviated? If you need suggestions or have questions specifically about events you think might help, feel free to comment in these columns and we’ll see what we can do to help!
This week, I want to know how you found your way to your specific server. I am not counting ‘server merges’ as an answer. I want to know why you joined the first server you ever joined, back when you first clicked the ‘join server’ button.

Posted 12/17/2012 10:45:19 AMA number of guilds who'd been on Venture Co (US) in WoW got together the first day of early access and basically, whoever had people get access earliest picked, so a bunch of us ended up on Jung Ma together.

Posted 12/15/2012 10:26:41 AMOur friends were on a server that ended up having wait times during release so four of us chose a newly created server a day or two later to avoid the wait times.

Posted 12/14/2012 11:40:41 AMI originally picked Thana Vesh because the population was low and you could actually get in without waiting in a queue! It was great at first but became a curse later when populations fell and there was no one to group with, and PvP popped rarely if at all. The first merger into Corellian Run was good, and the second into The Shadowlands was great! Fleet is always full, usually 2-3 instances.
