We finally have confirmation for Game Update 1.7: Return of the Gree going live on servers Tuesday, February 12th with no PTS scheduled for it.
Hello everyone, we wanted to let you know that we will be performing scheduled maintenance for five and a half hours on Tuesday, February 12th, 2013 from 3:30AM CST (1:30AM PST/4:30AM EST/9:30AM GMT/10:30AM CET/8:30PM AEDT) until 9AM CST (7AM PST/10AM EST/3PM GMT/3PM CET/2AM AEDT). All game servers, SWTOR.com, and the launcher will be offline during this period. This maintenance is expected to take no more than five and a half hours, but could be extended.
Game Update 1.7: Return of the Gree unveils a new in-game event, Relics of the Gree. Travel to Ilum to investigate the appearance of an ancient Gree starships, called “the Gray Secant.” The Reputation System is also introduced in this game update, which allows you to earn Reputation points by completing missions for organizations such as the Gree or the Voss, or for military divisions within the Republic and the Empire for great rewards.
After this maintenance is over, restart the game launcher to patch to Game Update 1.7: Return of the Gree.
Events are available to Free-to-Play Players and Subscribers at no additional cost. Visit the Free-to-Play Features Chart for more information.
Once the patch is live, check back here for information and guides related to the update; I'll try to have them up as quick as possible.

Posted 2/10/2013 6:28:26 PMActually rather pleased with this, as I just so happen to have this day off from work. Curious to see what they have planned and how reputation is going to work out. Always a little hesitant of untested content, but then I remember the Rakghoul event. A little crazy, a huge surprise, but all in all pretty fun.

Posted 2/10/2013 3:29:04 PMSame here, that would be great. I know they've added sabers with visual effects, but I'd also love to see crystals with either visual effects, or elemental effects like what they did in SWG.

Posted 2/10/2013 12:08:32 AMThe datamined changes might be enough to pull me back into the game.
Although those are probably changes for Hutt Cartel.
At the very least Jedi are finally getting the blaster reflect we've been asking for since Beta.

Posted 2/9/2013 6:13:08 PMI'm kind of excited for no PTS. There's an interesting kind of mystery to something that hasn't been picked apart by the masses. I will, however, voice my hope that it was tested internally to a degree that it goes relatively well. In my experience with MMOs, no big patch or content deployment goes flawlessly or without hitches, but let's hope that they are minimal in the face of PTS.

Non tested, spontaneous, and player approved.

Posted 2/9/2013 9:21:39 PMYou dont remember the second event?
Non tested, spontaneous, and with a massive exploit that allowed people to bypass and complete the entire content by doing 1 single space mission.
The Rakghoul event also had its bugs. Most/all players werent getting credit for the world boss kills and were thus unnable to complete all the codexes and be awarded the exclusive title.

Posted 2/10/2013 12:12:36 AMIts just being realistic... Both untested events had flaws (one of them major). Even numerous tested patches also have flaws. Statistically speaking, it is wise to expect there to be issues.

Posted 2/10/2013 12:42:41 PMWell as I said, I agree with no PTS to a degree, I just voiced my concern for it hopefully being tested, given the fact that the two events thus far did have issues. So, I like the idea that it hasn't been picked clean, just hoping that it goes smoothly, is all.

Posted 2/10/2013 12:08:45 PMI'll second this. The allure of PTS is *actually* being one of the first to see/conquer/whatever new content. Going through TfB on PTS... it's pretty exciting. But at the same time, you're in this sort of limbo where what you're doing isn't "real"; that is, all of the game community focuses on live servers.
We all understand the benefit of pts, but it does have its drawbacks.

Posted 2/9/2013 5:10:38 PMthey dont seem to PTS because they havent coded in the ability to give instant level 50s or the ability to transfer your toon to the PTS.

Posted 2/11/2013 11:26:11 AMMy question is, why did they add the Copy to PTS feature in "My Account" if they weren't going to test it as early as possible?

Posted 2/11/2013 11:34:40 AMI think the character copy feature will likely be for testing Rise of the Hutt Cartel. Given the fact that the new abilities and whatnot are probably related to that instead of 1.7 as previously thought, we can expect RotHC to be the next thing tested on the PTS.
