Introduced today during Game Update 1.7, we have the debut of the Galactic Reputation System. Covered briefly in a previous post, we'll attempt to take a closer look at this system, and see what it has to offer players for their effort. For more information, hit the jump.
Galactic Reputation System: Hard Earned Renown
The Galactic Reputation System features, at present, four reputable groups for each faction to work toward. Two are specific to each faction, while two are available for both. Let's take a look:
Empire Specific Reputation
Imperial Guard on Belsavis
Primarily serving as an opposition to the Dread Guard on Belsavis, these are the Empire's toughest non force-sensitive fighters. Reputation is gained for the Imperial Guard on Belsavis by completing missions in the Section X daily area. The mirrored faction for the Republic is the Republic 5th Assault Battalion. Reputation gained for one will increase reputation for the mirrored faction for characters in your Legacy.
Imperial First Mobile Fleet
Touted as a force that can be ready at a moment's notice to deploy to any destination in the galaxy, the Imperial First Mobile Fleet is the go-to force for fighting anything from pirates, to Republic forces. Reputation can be gained with the IFMF by completing Heroic Space Missions for Fleet Command. The mirrored Republic faction is the Republic Hyperspace Armada. Reputation gained for one will increase reputation for the mirrored faction for characters in your Legacy.
Republic Specific Reputation
Republic Fifth Assault Battalion
The Republic's Fifth Assault Battalion is the premier vanguard against darkness and evil in Section X on Belsavis. Determined to stop the Dread Guard from achieving their mysterious plans, they'll never cease in their pursuit of justice. Reputation for the RFAB can be gained by completing missions in the Section X daily area on Belsavis.
Republic Hyperspace Armada
Established by Admiral Sodoh Reddik, the Republic Hyperspace Armada is ever vigilant against a variety of threats, and they're always looking for skilled pilots to aid their cause. You can gain reputation with the RHA by completing Heroic Space Missions from Fleet Command.
Dual Faction Reputations
The Voss
The native mystics of the planet Voss are often misunderstood, mostly due to the primitive understanding of the Empire and Republic. With vast force abilities that exceed most understandings of how the Force should work, both the Empire and Republic seek the Voss as allies for their powerful future visions, which always come true. Reputation for the Voss can be earned by completing Heroic missions on Voss.
The Gree Enclave
A race of mysterious individuals, the Gree possess technology that is far and away from anything that modern Galactic technology can conceive. Given this fact, they are heavily desired as allies for both the Empire and Republic, especially given the recent arrival of the Grey Secant on war-torn Ilum. Reputation with the Gree Enclave can be obtained by completing missions in Ilum's Western Ice Shelf during "Relics of the Gree".
Reputation: A New Goal
I'm personally very excited by the introduction of this system, as it gives players a new goal to chase after, and some pretty cool rewards to boot.
