Game Update 2.0: Gear Preview

With the arrival of Game Update 2.0 on the PTS, I wanted to show off what some of the gear looks like.  Bear in mind that this is a work in progress, and will be updated as I'm able to get footage of the gear.  So, for gear previews and to discuss the future look of your favorite class, hit the jump.

I'll break these down by class and faction, so bear with me throughout the day as I put these up.

    I like the Arkanian Ultimate operative gear.

    I dont get the disconnect between the concept art at the start of teh videos and the actual implementation.  Concept art looks awesome but then the actual gear looks -nothing- like it.  Consular is a great example of this...

     

    Which is a shame because some of those concept pieces are much superior to the end result.

    Still looks like something else, but not Star Wars in any way.

    This game needs a new art director an a completely differend design team!

    If I would discribe the design of all old and new tier sets in my own words: "WoW on $h!+, lost in space..."

    Has the creative team ever watched Star Wars!? Or are they just people who have not been employed by blizzard for WoW, because their skill was to low?!

    These sets are just.... awful beyond words to describe. The TOR art department needs to take a long, hard look at itself. Whoever's responsible for this garbage (and the last tier) needs to find a new hobby.

    Completely separately, thank you DH for taking the time to put this and all the other 2.0 information together for us.

    I am completely lost... I'm too lazy to search the Dev Posts, but I'm almost 100% positive that a dev said that everyone should be very excited for the appearance of the next tier of gear... I think they were smoking some crack in a closet before they wrote that. At least the rest of the 2.0 is fantastic.

    Glad you're enjoying the content and thanks for your patronage, it really means a lot.  Keep an eye out over the next day or two for some new stuff, and I'll be on top of anything else that gets out.

    Personally I'd like to see what they've introduced for crafting recipes.  And just to make myself look like a fool I need to ask; Update 2.0 is coming at the same time as the Digital Expansion, right?

    Update 2.0 is the digital expansion.  There is a small distinction there, however.  Rise of the Hutt Cartel is the expansion content(i.e. level 55, Makeb, etc), while Update 2.0 is the update to the general game systems, such as achievements and currency.

    I saw the Arkanian Elite Gear and the first thing I thought was, "Are you my mummy?"
