Posted 4/26/2010 5:26:11 PMBut Dragon Age got an M rating, partly (sex, violence, and so on contribute too ;) ) because "a demon-possessed child could be killed off-screen".
Now, on-screen killing of a child would more than likely give it an M, perhaps even AO rating :p
I'm sure killing little droid children, puppies, or even yoda's ancestors would somewhat sate your hunger for the murder of the innocents :p

Posted 4/24/2010 9:09:42 AMSince the Voss can look into the future and are already being mentioned with prophecies I wonder if they will make the Prophecy about the Chosen One. Even though it seems to be mentioned as being made "before the Jedi took an active role in the Galaxy". But with the Naga Sadow twist it seems the current 'canon' might get a few twists to fit this as well... They could even argue the prophecy itself was made by the Voss a long time ago but the Jedi only discover it now... What do you think?

Posted 4/23/2010 7:36:14 AMI think the argument of "we already have Ventrilo/Teamspeak/Mumble" is perfectly acceptable as an answer when referring to your guild or group of friends. You can easily access someone who might be off in another game for help or chitchat when not grouped, but integrated voice chat is a very awesome building block for new friendships and great PUG experiences that isn't utilized enough in MMOs. In Warcraft, it was an afterthought, and I think it is still treated as much. Obviously speculation because I don't have statistics or anything to tell me how often people use it, but every time I've ever had it on in a battleground or a PUG raid, maybe one or two people had it going but we never really said much. Lord of the Rings Online, on the other hand, had it ready MUCH sooner. Leveling up and getting random groups always had the majority of voice chats on and people ready and willing to talk strategy or talk nerdy with you or whatever. Even if someone wasn't inclined to speaking, most everyone at least has it on to listen in case you need them to do something on the fly. I just don't think integrated voice chat should be dismissed because WoW's wasn't used that much or because you already use a 3rd party program with others.

Posted 4/22/2010 10:42:39 PMI'm going to steal something from another podcast that hits the nail on the head about the Star Wars community and why it can really be great in the Old Republic. The Star Wars community has a shared experience outside the game. Movies, books, toys ect. Myself being 35, people my age got to experience a universe at such a young age that we wanted to be there, to live it, to experience it. We have that in common. The Warcraft crowd doesn't have that. The games are all that they have.
Joining a guild. At this time I do not belong to one but plan on joining one. I've been a GM once during the 40 man raiding era of WoW and it was not fun at all. So right now I don't have any plans of starting my own. A guild, a good guild, can be so huge in making your game time wonderful and that's where you make those friendships that keep you coming back.
Voice Chat. I did vote yes. It really should be no. You don't need in game chat, like Engrey stated the codecs are usually not that great and most people will probably already have a Vent or TS server or possibly have access to one. If voivce chat hit the drawing board, scrap for now. Use resources on more important functions in the game.

Posted 4/22/2010 11:36:40 PMI also wanted to comment on joining a guild prior to launch. As I have done this as a member joining a pre-launch as well as being a GM for a Pre - Launch guild. I believe that it is completely a personal choice as to if you do so or not. If you are serious about playing the game it is nice to seek out a place of players that are of the same like mind to share philosophies and theory about what will or will not happen in the game. As well, if you are lucky or Collectors Edition allows, have the opportunity to be able to take part in beta. Giving you a chance to play the game as a guild together and have that bit of an edge going into launch. Several of my members are going to be making the switch to TOR and as well we have our recruitment open for those who are interested and fit what we are looking for in guild members. Providing a forum and vent for people to chat and play games together. I personally don't see an issue with starting guilds now. Will they stand up past launch and into end game? I believe that depends on its leadership.

Posted 4/22/2010 7:04:50 PMDo you think Bioware plans to make items just as customizable as characters?
I'd like to see the option for crafters to either customize equipment for you or create customization kits people can use. I don't see the harm in visual appearance changes as long as it's within reason. i.e. you can't make your lvl 1 armor look like the rarest armor in the game.

Posted 4/22/2010 7:39:34 PMNow having the ability to die your armor and trim like in Warhammer is a great idea. If they used the remodeling idea that Aion used where you could transform you gear to look like another piece is good. Mind you in Aion you could only do this @ lvl 30 and not to PvP earned gear. So there were some limitations.
But I would agree with you if crafters had some sort of ability to create a set item that possibly had some sort of difference to them. Or perhaps if in crafting and item had several different looks that someone could choose from rather than just one.
Just a thought

He/she is saying customization is good as long as you "Can't" make lvl 1 gear look like Elite gear.
Sorry just trying to clear that up, haha

Posted 4/22/2010 6:40:52 PMHow likely is it that one will be able to betray their faction alignment and switch to the other side? I'm asking this because this could be a very good way to keep a balance between factions on a server, helping/preventing the community from dieing on one side or the other...
