Korriban, I always loved the lore of that planet and getting to see more of Korriban is always great.

I choose Coruscant because I think the planet will possess the greatest level of political intrigue. I'm planning on playing as an Imperial Agent and I'm picturing some sweet espionage/sabotage missions on Coruscant.

This is a question I hope gets answered at E3 (maybe you could drag it out of them ;-) ). I'd like to know more about how BW plans on implementing the "meta-story" they keep talking about. In particular, I'm curious about the teaser the attached to the end of the Taris video. Does the meta-story mean the world will be dynamically changing over time? and to what scope? or is this going to be another trick that other MMOs use to give the impression of change (e.g. phasing, temporary changes in faction ownership, or changes within instances), but ultimately everything reverts back to how it always was? Also, will the meta-story be dev driven or player driven?

So.....I wonder if we'll get a Thursday Preview today? I'm kinda expecting it since we've gotten one for the past 2 or 3 weeks in a row.

I like different planets for different reasons, hard to pick just one for me. I decided to go with Tython since it will probably be my starting planet for my first character and has a rich and mysterious history with the Force. I'm still very much looking forward to walking on Coruscant, seeing the Senate building etc.

Hoping to build/buy a new computer before TOR comes out. My current PC is 5 years old!

Taris is the most appealing. I'm a big fan of the post-apocalyptic environment and the Returning to Taris video was impressive given the design elements used. I also have fond memories of beating on rakghoul swarms in KOTOR.

I just built a new desktop, so it's Windows 7 64bit. It was extremely easy (my first time building one) and slightly cheaper than buying a pre-built, I recommend that everyone opt to build one if they are in the market for a new rig.

guess I'm odd man out, judging from the other commenters... Tatooine.

It was between Tatooine, Hoth, and Voss for me, and Tatooine won out because my imagination was especially sparked by the short write up they gave it when it was revealed. I can't wait to dig into the secrets contained under the sands. Top secret R&D weapons labs...
BW really is doing a spectacular job on all of it's planets IMO, but the 3 mentioned just seem to have the most mystery associated with them. Weapons labs on Tatooine, hidden Chiss bases on Hoth, and the whole weird thing going on with the mystics on Voss.

I'll be building out a new system around the end of the year specifically for the purpose of running TOR in all it's glory, and will almost certainly be running Win 7 (64) on it.

Dromund Kaas is the planet that I cannot wait to see. I have always wondered where the sith of the old republic came from ever since kotor, and now I found out they have a whole planet filled with dark side energy that is there capitol. Plus the Emperor him self is there a long with the Dark council, how can you not want to visit this planet.

Agreed. Also, this planet was immediately appealing when we saw it in that first timeline video with the lightning striking and the colossal towers with the huge flying imperial banners on them. Can't wait too see this planet in game.

I'm most excited by Voss and Tython, for as far as I know, they've never appeared in a game.

Really, I'm always a little surprised that planets like Coruscant get people so excited, as we know the most about them. For me, Star Wars is about a big mysterious place full of exploration possibilities. Retreading Hoth or Tatooine just doesn't cut it.

Well for me, Coruscant is appealing because it's been shown in so few SW games. I can think of 2 off the top of my head: Jedi Power Battles, and The Phantom Menace Game. It also appeared in Force Commander and Galactic Battlegrounds and Empire at War, but the RTS games don't really count as running around on the planet's "surface". We've only been in city-planets in a few other games: Nar Shaddaa in KotOR2 and Jedi Knight(and maybe its sequels), and Taris in KotOR. We've ran around forested worlds like Tython before, but rarely a city-planet.

That's a good point. Despite being well-tread (conceptually), no Star Wars game has ever faithfully delivered a sprawling metropolis environment. I bet this partly explains why Coruscant's ahead of more well-known planets like Tatooine.
  • #24 heybarn
I voted for Taris, but I'm really curious about Voss & Belsavis as they're so unknown & unexplored in a game thus far. Coruscant would be cool to see, just to compare to what we have seen and know from the movies + in the Clone Wars CGI TV series. Hard to choose overall!

Win 7 64bit I already have, complete with a 5870 ATI card and a 256GB SSD, so the system is fine :)
I also chose Korriban just cause I think it's where I'll end up starting out, and the tombs look like they'll be fun. Also, not having played any of the KOTOR games, all the planets are new for me really!

Daniel Erickson said something interesting on the TOR forums today about the dialogue system:
