Thx for the informative podcasts, really enjoyed Episode 40.
A few questions that I am most curious about are how was the games stability? Was there any noticeable lag? This would include out of combat, during solo combat and group party combat.
Also did you notice any graphical clipping around world structures that made the movement feel awkward or limited?
I do not suppose anyone tried to 'replay' a Flashpoint, to see if they got the 'points' option -- or if that option is removed once you have made a choice?
Sith Inquisitor Advanced Classes 1) Mage- Your light saber is pretty useless. Youre almost completely using lightning for a little CC and BIG damage. 2) Healer- Youre healing spec so you have the big heals but you cant be asked to go through the main story healing your way to the top so in order to do quests they give you moderate double bladed ligh saber damage. Your ranged damage is very limited because its replaced with heals. I think its a fair trade off. You have 2 unique aspects to both force classes (inquisitor and counselor) with tradeoffs so the two branches arent alike.
I'm happy that you talked to the devs regarding day and night. Stonewalling on their part is certainly better than saying "we won't have it". So there is still hope. It's also good to hear that the physx (read: movement of robes) is not ready yet. That gives me some hope that also the clunky animations aren't final yet.
However i found it a bit disappointing that you didn't answer questions which were asked in the forum thread, but i guess that just wasn't possible time wise.
Another thing learned: Bring zoidberg to your podcasts more often, i love this guy. Also there was another one i did not yet hear often. He talked about the XP he received for clicking something in the game world and said "thanks for coming by" at the end of the podcast. You could do some info about your team on the site anyway, it would be nice to get to know you guys a bit better since we really have no idea who we're listening to each week
Let's be honest: Cryptic has a long history of just pulling stuff out of their hats during development. All the way back to "Classless" toons and the "Super Secret Out of Combat Advancement System" promised for City of Heroes. You should have stopped trusting them years ago.
BioWare says that they are testing stuff and almost everything is still subject to change. "Ammo" sounds like kind of a clunky mechanic for the Trooper. While "Heat" provides both an obstacle to a Bounty Hunter's performance and a kewl graphics opportunity with the "Vent" mechanic. I plan to make a CC heavy Consular and a Tanking Juggernaut as my first 2 TOR chars, and I'm confident that both will be fun to play :D
I understand there's some talk of light saber spec for inquisitor. I remember some vivid (said nicely) arguing by Em. against such things some time back in vent. I was looking forward specifically to see how this develops and observe how her reaction changes as time passes, if it does.
Nothing against you, but I can't help but remember thinking, I wonder what will happen if what is being claimed will not come to fruition, how will one adjust?
Thanks for live Q&A guys. Very appreciative of all this website does. I'll be sure to jump on vent once my new mic comes in. My last one randomly stopped working.
