Community Questions
Library Jedi: "My question is for any who played classes with light sabers. Could you stand around, turning your light saber on and off over and over? Or did you need to target an enemy to turn it on? Could you take out the hilt without igniting the blade?"

Wyldheart: "Will Force powers be able to affect the environment (i.e. pull down a nearby tree, push rocks against the enemy, etc)?"

Lancet: "Can you Jump?"

DarthMorbus: "BioWare is constantly talking about this personal story. And we have found out that all side quests are the same for each class (depending on faction I'm guessing). But for how long do you think this 'personal storyline' will go on? And do you think it will be balanced, with the amount of side quests and personal quests?" follow up question from r2d2arm: "On the origin worlds, was there any incentive to explore? Or was the area small enough that you didn't have to go out of your way to discover side-quests or a new area?"

Krisis: "Since nothing has really been revealed and the only thing I care to ask from a player's perspective is play quality, how is the gameplay? In terms of fluidity, immersion (the scenery, background noises [birds chirping, trees busheling, streams streaming, etc], weather effects, lighting, etc.), control, combat, etc. (How cheesy are the animations? How long do corpses stay there before they disappear?)"

Dastone: "I have not heard to many comments on the graphics aspects of the game. Does it have more of a realistic world feel, like say AoC or more of a video game/cartoon say like WoW, I am guessing somewhere in-between, What are your comments on character models and overall Graphic Feel?"

hobocrunch: "Can you explain movement in detail? WoW has no rubberbanding due to it being coded differently. Is it possible to rubberband in SWTOR?"

Remlish: "When targeting enemies did it feel more natural to TAB cycle through them or Left-click to engage?"

A suggestion for the podcasts, can you please do time stamps on the textual descriptions of the podcast so that one can read the quick index on what's on the podcast and skip around to what we find interesting?

    Hi guys.

seems like my question was lost.

Is there auto follow in the game? If so, does it work for both friendly and enemies?

    Is there a \assist command?
  • #16 sado
Not that we were able to find out, for both questions. That is why we didn't answer it on the cast.

Great podcast! Thanks for answering my question. The origin worlds don't appear to be designed for exploration from what I've seen. There could be a spot or two that are off the main quest, but that's my initial impression so far. My other question, sort of along the same lines, was whether the origin worlds would have content for other classes later on. As a Bounty Hunter, would there be content on Korriban, etc. I'll find it a little sad if the origin worlds did not have any content for other classes, but not too sad since that gives me more of a unique experience on my alts.

You are trying to get to as many conventions as possible? So will you travel to the conventions in Europe?

Great Podcast, gents. Thanks for keeping my TOR thirst sated, at least for a time :)

what is rubberbanding? never heard that word, has to do something with collision though...
  • #8 bioni
"rubberband" effect is due to lag. You basicly get shot or pulled back when you are running with your toon.
So if it's bad, you feel like you take 2 steps forward, one step back.
  • #7 Zoid
It is a form of lag. When it happens you snap back to where you were standing a few seconds ago.
  • #9 Hobowan
    ok, understood. thanks.

PS: Why haven't you been on the podcast zoid? You're a cool guy, want to hear from you more often.

The D.E. opening for this podcast was completely awesome! Gotta say, you folks really kept a good pace on this podcast (especially given the physical state it sounded like some were in following the 4th of July holiday) and you really covered ALOT of topics.

Also, didn't realize there was anyone on the team who was old enough to even know that there was such a thing a "Shadow" radio show, nevermind actually having listened to one. Those were a favorite part of my childhood... back in the days when quite literally PCs weren't even a far-fetched dream yet. Gave me some nice nostalgia with that comment... thanx.

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men?

    The Shadow knows....

I loved those when I was a kid. Those old radio dramas where so engrained in my childhood that I still own a copy of the movie version made in 1994 (regardless of how good the movie is). When I was a kid, I actually had a red scarf that I would wear around the house like most kids would wear a Superman cape. Now The Shadow needs a gritty videogame reboot!

Amazing job answering the questions guys. Next time I'll be a tad more clear with my "etc's" hehe.
