If you have any Star Wars: The Old Republic or website related questions you would like to have answered on the podcast, then feel free to ask them in the comment section of this post.

Do you guys think that they are on schedule for Spring '11 release based on your demo play? Speculations on when (i.e. month) u think it will be released? Thanks

Can we get any details on how the PvP ruleset outside of Warzones will work?

From an interview we heard that the flashpoints will operate like dungeons, and be replayable. We also found out that you get light/dark side points for your own contribution regardless of the groups final decision.

Does this mean that light/dark side points are effectively infinite and farmable? If there are abilities or perks attached to having a certain alignment, can we effectively change it at any time? Would we be able to go through the class story quests stabbing orphans and still finish with a light side alignment because we ran a flashpoint a dozen times to balance it out?

This seems unlikely to me, so do we only get alignment points the first time we do a flashpoint?

What are DH's speculations about the total number of races that will be available, and which ones?

Has there been any indication thus far that BioWare will adopt more of a Star Wars style naming convention for characters, or will they be sticking with the usual MMO style naming conventions do you think?
(in other words... will we see alot of names with apostrophies in them, or 3 part names ie: Obi Won Kinobi, or will it be more of the usual naming conventions we're used to from other MMOs?)

Feel silly for even asking this far away from release. I realize it's not a make or break item at this stage of development, but you'd be surprised how many folks in my circle of friends have this and similar "role-playing" type questions at the forefront of their thinking right now...

Greetings all !! My questions would be this. Seeing how Bioware seems to time all their new reveals strategicly and adds layer on top of another layer to expand the game information, in retrospect to ships and ship combat, will groups of players be able to control different aspects of the ship combat? ie: A player to pilot, a player(s) to be gunner, communications, shields ect. and will it be controlled when you want to enter combat. (ie: flag yourself to PvP ship combat)

More excited about the space stuff because I didn't get to fully enjoy Jump to Lightspeed during my SWG tenure. The computer I had at the time couldn't handle the graphics. :)

Indifferent on the multiplayer. If nothing else, the implementation of the group encounters looks very interesting and very engaging.

humm already plenty of good questions have been posted.

I just got one.. it's regarding the Beta and the actual test invitations.
Living in Europe, I have the idea that the actual test invitations are not for us but mainly reserved to the North America players/members.
For different reasons I would understand that but I just would like to know if it's the case or not.
I tend to prefer to know the truth rather than checking my mails on a daily basis if there is no hope :)

Hence in general, when Dev are talking about test, close or open beta, are the invitations sent to North America members + European ones as well ?? or should we consider that no European members will receive any invit until there is clearly a Beta for the European area servers/members ?

    Sorry for my long post/question
  • #70
They said only in north america for now as the servers are in austin texas or something like that so they are waiting until they set up there proper european servers before sending out invites as connecting to an american server from europe is not fun and there is a lot of lag....

I think they said only North American testing for now somewhere. Don't see why they shouldn't test in europe as well though, at least for testing the servers themselves.

My excitement and anticipation for SWTOR has been high since I started looking into the game and it still is...so unchanged.
  • #63
Any speculation on what TOR may reveal at Gen Con? And does anyone have plans to attend? I can't go, but curious about info.

As the polls go with the announcement of space my hype is unchanged. The hope trailer increased my hype to the level it is now.

Question for the DH team (going off of Hobowan's post below):

When you guys have spent time with the game, have you noticed the animation to be clunky? Has it improved over the course of your play time? And if it is pretty clean, do you feel it will be even more polished by release?

Space combat was a nice surprise, but I'm indifferent towards it. If it's fun, it will be a great way to catch a break from normal raiding/PvP. If not, just more time to focus on the ground game.

The multiplayer video didn't change my excitement level, but it was nice to see the group dynamics in action. The video mostly made me want more mechanics-related information. While it's nice to learn about features, I want to dive into the guts of the game: stats, talents, skills, possible builds, gear differences, ideal companion combinations, etc. It's great if the car looks nice and has all the frills, but what matters is under the hood.
