1. Other: I enjoyed the way Tarel V felt like a movie trailer and the way it left a lot of unanswered questions.
2. Other: I would like to learn more about the creative process and all of the work that goes into designing and building a flashpoint. I'd also like to hear about some of the feedback from game testing about the flashpoints. I don't want all the secrets to be revealed ahead of time.
If you guys were invited to "Testing" (*nods to Emleah*); would you guys test the class you are planning on making your main after the game's release? Or would you play another class?
And of course, the big ole' Why? (ex. 'I would love to test the class and make it the best possible version of itself.' Or, 'I wouldn't want to ruin my main class's story')
What I enjoyed the most was learning about the possible story connections between flashpoints. It wasn't really part of the Taral V demonstration, but was part of the same update, and I think that it is very interesting. Its also what I want to know more about as far as flashpoints go. That and any possible unique designs such as multiple pathing (which we have heard a little about long ago), multi-objectives for multi/sub teams to complete at the same time, manning turbo-cannons or something that allow for super DPS attacks but leaves the player vulnerable, etc.
As for how many flashpoints I'd put my money on...well I dont think 10 to a side is too many.
Sorry might be a stupid question, but what do you mean exactly by environmental effects? As in objects you can interact with (pick up, destroy, throw at people, etc)? If that is what you mean by it, then I am surprised it hasn't gotten more votes. I picked up DC universe online to help me through the next few months till TOR is released, and one of the things I really like is that many objects can be picked up and used in combat (boxes, cars, barrels, etc) and apparently you can interact with the environment to a certain extent in TOR as well (using force to make canister explode), I'm definitely happy about that, and would want to know to what extent the environment can be interacted with, and just more general info on it
I put "other" for what other information about flash points I want to know. And thats, "are their different sizes"? I mean are we going to see 10 and 25 man flash points also? I hope so.
I wanna know how morality choices will work on repeated play throughs.
Will it just be for fun and you only keep your original choice? or are you stuck repeating the same choice as you made the first time, or the even more unlikely option of you get morality points with every playthrough, hello grinding.
Group combat - finally a true MMO feature. Companions usage - I am craving for getting any info about companions, PvE, PvP, romances etc 10-15 - if TOR want to compete with WoW 2011.
Thanks for the mention on the last pod cast. After hearing it and thinking about it. I think I may have been unclear. Once again I picked companions as I would really like to learn about the scripting choices. It was said on a pod cast somewhere about huntards and pets doing some really stupid things. I would like to know about the depth of the different scripts and how customizable they are. Are they as customizable as they were in Dragon Age? or is it more general passive or aggressive. How well do they stick with the group? or are they prone to pull aggro on other groups as they move to attack.
Personally I hope we get to setup their attack sequences and how they behave very similar to DA.
Based on this weeks dev tracker and Taral V video. Combat looks to be very tactical and more than just sitting around spamming your best attacks. Situational, planned tactics. Plus toss in some world physics and this is starting to sound like an action RPG more than a traditional MMO.
I am most interested in finding out if Bioware will use the old KOTOR mechanic of one handed vs dual bladed or dual handed lightsabers. If I remember a single bladed lightsaber was BALANCED, while Dual blades/handed gave a penalty. I think this was cool, as you essentially could have a higher damage potential but you werent as accurate, while ONE HANDED YOU WERE BALANCED AND DID DAMAGE MORE ACCURATELY. I hope they do this as they said, and as we saw in the Taral V vid a One Handed Jedi Knight, can be viable at DPS. Hopefully the big difference will be more accuracy, but LESS CRITICAL CHANCE.
What portion of the Taral V Flashpoint demonstration did you enjoy learning about the most?
I enjoyed seeing the actual presentation of the Flashpoint the most. It feels like a really good PnP GM's scenario, and gives you ample story-based motivation to see your objectives through.
I wonder if a level 50 can go through a level 32 Flashpoint with a lvl 32 friend and clean house, over and over or if FP's get locked because of being too high or too low...
I just hope that they are a challenge along with being fun :-)
Makes me think one of two things are possible. First being scaling. If you have played FFXI you know what I mean. If you want to run with someone lower than you, you can scale back your level in order to do so. So for this it would mean that although your level 50, when your running a FP with a level 32 friend your level 32 as well. The second could possibly be able to set the level of the FP to whatever you are in order to get better loot and so it wont be locked out.
Q. What additional information do you want to learn about Flashpoints?
A. Other (please explain) I would like to know what the min max group size will be for flashpoints. I.e will they all be 2 - 5? or will they all have specific team size requirements that differ from one to another? Also will companions count toward team size e.g will it be effectively possible to solo a two man flashpoint by being just you and your companion?
