I'm not really a fan of micro-transactions in mmos in which I pay a subscription for but if people want to pay extra for some trivial "pets" or anything of the like that's fine by me. Although while we are on the subject I must admit I do find it pretty admirable that on the occasion when blizzard does have one of these sorts of things available they usually try to give a portion to a worthwhile cause. As long as it's not going to be something that can actually enhance the performance of my character, for example something that a hardcore guild would require for the end game content (some sort of epic temporary stat boost). That aspect should always be left up to the skill of the person between the keyboard and the chair and not the size of the wallet.
I voted for smartphone access, I cant believe how many people did not vote for that. living in this day of age with smartphones I am really really surprised.
Why should you have to pay extra is the real question? You are already paying for the account why pay microtransactions to do stuff via a Smart Phone? Sure I could see paying $0.99 for the application maybe, but not a re-occurring monthly fee just for Smart Phone access.
I voted other to the question reguarding microtransactions I would be willing to pay for. The only things I would pay for would be costumes/skins that could be placed over existing gear, non-combat pets, species/name change and or server transfers (should be an all in one.) Anything that would give an edge ingame should not be a viable choice such as items (heal pots) gear or weapons. That is crafter territory. As for Enhanced account security, i can only guess that means things such as Authenticators, which i would promote. And if Bioware were smart they would include one in the collectors edition. Paying for priority customer service is wrong. As you would be in a pot with all the other folks that paid for the same service, and is that really a higher priority? As always have a great day and see you all at launch.
If they do authenticators in the collectors edition, I'd love them forever. If they included it in the boxed normal versions, I'd love them even more. That was something that always bothered me w/ Blizzard. They said we just paid for shipping, but if that's the case, why not save on shipping and just throw it in the game boxes. Digital editions would be a little tricky, but it's EA publishing, and they're smart enough to figure something out.
I certainly am going to pre-order the Collector's Edition of the game when possible, so yeah, that's over $60.
Monthly subscription... I am willing to pay $15 or less. Obviously, if there's an option for extended periods of time at a discounted monthly rate, I will be doing that. I am intrigued by a possible lifetime fee. Of course, I'd like to know if I will like the game first.
the more I wait for this game...the more folks from WoW keep asking me to come back to resurrect my Pally Tank....I Hybridized him for PVP purposes from battlefield gear for a Ret and used Prot specs... I miss being the resident badass... the one thing that concerns ME...I played WoW for over three years from 2006-2009...payed the 15 dollars a month.. Stopped cold turkey cause of the Deceived trailer 2 yrs ago at E3 and would like to be rewarded for my patience, tolerance and understanding.......... You guys asked about the micro transactions and everything under the sun except about a lifetime fee...I personally would like to pay a onetime fee and have everything or undercut prices below what WoW does....if they charge 15...SWTOR should do better ..I personally hope there are zero micro anything to do with the game...it cheapens the game....sure sell your tshirts, toys and computer gear... but don't have x number of players have the advantage over y players cause they paid more... make it a flat rate...period...if I catch wind there is other than what I hope...I will be more than happy to go back to WoW
I'm not opposed to full blown micro transactions in theory, but there are so many ways for the game to burn players if the store isn't managed perfectly, that I don't trust any company to get it right(even Bioware). To be on the safe side, I hope only account related MTs exists, and not MTs that effect gameplay in any way.
I voted. although, what are you asking here? "What is the maximum you will spend on purchasing the game itself?" I'd pay the average going rate to purchase a game. 29 pounds (uk) However, if you talking about Special Edition/Collecters etc, then i would go as far as 59 pounds. idk what that is on the exchange rate sorry.
People are crazy. If Bioware offered enhanced account security in an MT, especially if you're planning on playing the game regularly, this seems like a no brainer.
MT are not the devil. There are many practical applications of micro transactions that it is just not feasible to receive in the box price, whether it be due to hardware, developer resources, or cost limitations. Obviously, since no one seems willing to pay more for their box, they shouldn't expect anything extra, and if they do, well that just silly.
Also, I'd gladly pay $20 a month for this game and pay over 60 for the box. There is a phrase that comes to mind, you get what you pay for.
I would like to say I would only pay $40-50 but I know that I would actually pay more since I'm so invested in it anyways. It would make me very angry with them though. A game that has a subscription cost should not cost more than $45, even if I am willing to pay over 60 for it.
A subscription fee of more than $20 actually would make me not play the game, as I actually might not even be able to afford that every month. Money's tight right now.
Let me preface this question with an apology; I don't know if you've discussed this on a previous cast, and if so I'm sorry, I've not yet listened to all of them.
There is a pretty heated debate on switching AC's on the swtor forums. As it stands right now Bioware says 'no' to AC switching due to them wanting 16 classes and wanting choices to matter.
What do you all think about switching AC's? Do you agree with the dev's and think they are classes and should not be switched, or do you think they are specializations, not classes, and ok to be retrained to another AC?
It has been discussed. A lot. But don't worry about it. Anyways, they don't want any switchings because they want choices to matter and they view them as separate classes. They even support the idea of calling them classes and the (pre)classes something else if that would help people understand better.
