Loot Bags: I think they're a neat idea, playing to the idea of making sure everyone gets some sort of reward. There's nothing quite so lame as spending a week in a raid and not getting anything out of it. At all.
Voice Actors: I may well be avoiding a class that has me playing with or as a character that sounds like Mission Vao. Screechy 14 year old, no thanks.
"What is your take on "loot bags" being given to every raid member upon a successful boss kill?"
I will love it if it is done right and hate it if it is done wrong.
While I appreciate BioWare wanting to change up the system it could lead to more strife in the whole active raider vs. casual raider debate. With the old system, players control how loot is distributed and often it leans more towards gearing out the more active and pivotal roles in raids (i.e. main tank). Now it is completely based on "luck" in which if you have my luck rolling it'll be a long road to gearing up. While I know badges are also supposed to drop in the "loot container" for those that do not get an actual reward, I just wonder what the balance will be of how many runs will it take to get a single piece of loot.
As I said above, if it is done right it will be a God send. However, if it is done wrong... well it will be a nightmare.
A little bit of money, some random crafting materials, and badges are what I expect to come from most loot bags. If the occasional item shows up, no big deal. I'm very much a fan of this, because I don't think raiding should cost players so much money. A few random things off a kill will help ease that burden. Raiding should not make players poor.
Loot bags don't necessarily mean you get a tier piece every boss run. Other items are in this bag as well (ie: money, some drops, etc). People seem to be upset because they think people will get gear quickly. There is no evidence that this is true. I will say that I quit WoW because I ran Scholomance 100 times and never got my warlock head piece.
I agree with this. I assume that all this is, is what people have been asking for in WoW for years - i.e. a way to drop class specific items rather than run after run of sharded purples that no one could use.
During, say, an 8 man run, each boss may only drop 1 or 2 items to peoples bags. Everyone else get's badges/commendations/whatever as a consolation prize. So the actual drop rate of items is no greater than the WoW model, its just specific to your class (ofc, whether this is AC specific we'll have to see).
The reason for putting it in a bag? Stops loot drama in it's tracks and stops arse hats rolling on gear for their companions. Your bag - this is what you get. The argument I have heard about it gearing people to fast is redundant as you still have the same sort of chance getting a piece you need as opposed to a similar piece that you got last week or something you got that matches badge loot. Considering that a lot of the higher end gear is more about number of mod slots anyway, its more of a cosmetic side-grade anyway. Really can't see the problem.
