Posted 3/22/2012 3:48:10 AMIn the Rooster Teeth podcast they talked about ME2 stats and how crazy it was that some people had beat the game 30 times ...so guess Sado is one of those people

Posted 2/28/2012 3:30:05 AMI did like this podcast much more than the last one because, I hear ranting in my guild almost EVERY DAY and hearing Dover going on and on... I almost turned it off. Nothing against Dover, everyone has his bad days and so on but anyway... doesn't matter for this one.
PVP WARZONES
So, as several of you guys I dig PvP warzones... in fact I'm leveling now entirely with warzones (and class quest) which unfortunately leaves me with tons of valor wasted because you level your valor much faster than your level. I'm capping valor almost always around 60-70% of my chars level and this since lvl 12 so go figure. I'm trying to understand why I cannot overlevel my valor though I can be maxed in crafting but I do hope for the future that they will only block lvl 50 so you can lvl up your valor until you hit this cap, then you max your char level etc. . (I would prefer to have no cap for valor at all, well it makes it easier for the few people leveling only with pvp but 98% of the population won't feel any difference).
Commodations, Coins, Class setups and so on, well I think everyone which does PvP several times will run across people just leaving the warzone because they predict that they will never come back after a 0-1 or a hacked door etc. . Having a time out debuff for people leaving a warzone would be fair.... meassured on the amount of time me getting beat the shit out because 4 people leave at once, causing me losing because the new 4 people lost all "fun" when they finally joined and our team being way behind.... I would rather see valor rank decrease. In certain situations a severwide on screen message "player X is a chicken". I know, over the top but just thinking about it drives me nuts.
I totally agree that the reward system or... commodation system in warzones has to be re-addressed. Be it damage, heal, guard.... all should have the same amount of rewards. Guard has an incredible amount just for guarding, not actually doing anything but standing close to the person (btw. I'm playing a Powertech myself so... yes I profit from it at the moment /shrug) while when I'm running around with my healer, I get like 2 rewards for 2,5k single and 75k heal. On the other side I usually get 5-9 objectives doing damage/ defending and my sorc is currently lvl 25. So what I'm saying is, while guard has in my option quite an advantage compared to other class abilities, you can still get a fair amount of commodations per game.
Regarding group setup, I remember goin into warzones around lvl 25 on my powertech. I realised very fast that republic side had like 10:1 healer ratio versus imperium. So I leveld that char to 50 with valor rank around 40. I almost immediatly started roll a sorc, because I like the playstyle/ variety/ possibilities and because my faction had in fact no healer in warzones. Slowly slowly I see an increase in healer and that's what a gaming community is all about. Player themselves regulate how they can experience the game. If you don't have enough healer... roll a healer yourself and at some point it will be more or less balanced. The other side is that some people are not very good at pvp/ don't understand/ don't see the way to personal success. If I as a healer don't need to cast a single bubble during an entire game... the other team is bad, actually very bad. If I see 5 people of my team getting killed one after the other while the enemies 4-people-team stands unscatterred... why do people think it is a good idea to attack every person instead of focusing on one after the other? I'm sure no one would attach the mob with 100% health and ignoring another with 1% health while getting attacked by both of course.
PVE RAIDS
We are currently trying on hardmode raids. First of all.. I wasn't raiding in ToR until 1-2 Weeks back, I actually had only my 3 pieces of PvP gear and some Flashpoint stuff. First time we run EV we cleared it almost first try, every mob. Ok, we knew the scripts so no big deal and it's normal mode. I personally think EV is too easy (except SoA).
We cleared EV that day in like 2 hours, after that we went to the palace and got shitfaced by the first boss. The script is not difficult but because you are limited on your standing ground, you have to move most of the time and you have adds + x minutes till enrage timer, this boss proved to be much more of a challenge than anything but SoA in EV. Continuing down the line we killed 2/5 after another 1,5 hours and called it a night. So we cleared 7/10 of current raid content at our very first raid in 4 hours.
I have to say that some of the flashpoint scripts are more difficult to handle than raids and so far in any other MMO I played, raids were the pinnacle of content difficulty.
We continuid 2 days later, killing trash (did I say that I hate trash in this game as a tank? I get it that trash doesn't kill anybody or... isn't shitfacing the entire raid but what is the purpose of it? It drops randomly an item and is nothing but killing time. They should make it at least somehow necessary to feel any kind of thrill) and at some point hit Mr. "I am indestructible unless you light me up". We hit this mob after the nerf but even with 500k less, having melee or range DD's does pretty much decide this and most of the other encounter which I think is a bad design. We spent several tries on clicking, several times on trying to beat the enrage timer and killed him in our 9th or 10th attempt. While repairing costs are fairly high, this one was actually the first boss which felt like an achievement afterwards. The final boss was a joke, again unfortunately but ok, overall Note from 1-10, 10 being perfect I would give the raid content on normal mode a 5-6.
On our first Hardmode attempt we cleared 4/5 of eternal vault first try, tried SoA for 3 tries and tried the first boss in palace. Again, the difficulty difference is so hugh, the scripts not much different at all, I feel myself a little bit less excited about raiding in ToR. I still enjoy it and I would still run it even I would be fully Rakata but still. You can make interesting/ challenging scripts without overcomplicating it. I just hope for the future content that, it doesn't make a hugh difference what kind of healer/ dd's you take with you. Melee or Range shouldn't be so different in difficulty regarding the scripts but more or less the same. You shouldn't get punished for playing either one for no obvious reason.
We did actually only run in 3 bugs during the entire time which would be 2 at the pillar mob and 1 at SoA so bugwise on normal mode it seems almost perfect.
CHAR TRANSFER
having a lvl 42 marauder on another server with 400 artifice... I kinda hope they make transfers available rather soon. I wouldn't mind to lose legacy xp during this move, it shouldn't be something you do every day in your freetime just because if you have too many people, you don't start building a community but sink down into your very own hole, not caring for anything or anyone and exactly this leads to the kind of behavior which I'm sure no one wants to see.
Awefully long post, I'm sorry about that.

Posted 2/22/2012 5:11:27 AMApparantly something went wrong when I posted last time as my comment is gone, so I'll try again:
Hi guys
First off, thanks for making this pod cast, always good to have swtor content when I’m actually not logged in :). I respect your point of views but I can’t seem to feel that you guys aren’t really addressing the (hard)core issues of the game, mainly because you don’t raid and you’re still leveling characters instead of maxing out the ones you have. Personally I couldn’t care less how bugged Ilum pvp is, for me it’s a marginal part of the game, for others it’s a major, but time and time again you spend a lot of time talking about it. Despite of that I do agree that the current pvp content is lacking and that the whole revamp-reroll-Ilum thing is concerning on many levels for the further development for the pvp in swtor, time will tell.
Where I really don’t understand you guys is your reluctance to raid because it’s “so buggy”, to me it just sounds like a bad excuse and excessive whining. Trying to have an argument on game balance is to me impossible if you don’t have extensive end content experience. I’m not saying that all of you should have it, neither am I saying that the other points you discuss are less important than end content pve, but to ignore it fully is to me wrong and makes the podcast seem like it’s floating around the same issues and never really addresses the problems in swtor.
Of course you can be negative about the game, there are a lot of issues, but there really isn’t anything so buggy in PvE that you can’t raid. If you want to talk about patch 1.1.4 and you did raid endgame you could talk about the G4-B3 nerf in normal mode, why make this? Is it really necessary? How easy do they intend normal mode to be? Apparently very easy, what does this hint about coming content? They fixed the issue with SoA changing agro when casting Mind trap, why change it? If you look at the 10 bosses we have in operations currently, SoA really is the only one that can block guilds in progress, isn’t this a good thing when there is so little content out there? Why is there close to no reward in clearing content on nightmare instead of hard mode? Why are so many of the bosses close to tank and spank with the exception of SoA and G4-B3? Isn’t it worrying you guys that they only hit a design wise homerun on 1.5 out of 10 bosses? Why is it so easy to get full gear atm, what’s the plan behind this? I think most of us are hoping that this is introductory level and that the next content is the first real content.
Generally there is a lot to talk about, starting with the stats (and NOT the looks…) of the tier gear. Why is the upgrade from tionese to columi so big, but the columi->rakata small. Why did they stack so much accuracy on the rakata compared to the columi? it makes very little sense. Why were the Rakata weapons so low rating so far into the actual game, one should think it’s a simple issue to fix, who is testing this stuff?
I could go on for ages, I think I already did go on for a couple of ages, my point is that you guys have a very nice podcast and some of us (me at least) find that some issues are skipped and not getting the focus they need. SWTOR has the potential to become the first real big MMO since WOW, and there is no doubt that the next couple of patches are vital, especially the big content one in March.

Posted 2/21/2012 7:35:36 PMHave to say that I don't agree with all this hate for movies made from games. It's not impossible to do them well (Tomb raider, SF2 animated movie, 1st Res evil movie), but yes I realise that the bad faaaar outweighs the good (good god did anyone see the live action SF movie or the later one about Chun Li?). However, this just means we should insist on them being done properly, not just not done at all. Imagine an ME movie written by Drew with say, Same Worthington as Shep. That sounds pretty good to me and would expand the brand.
I know things aren't really this simple in Hollywood and these things have a way of being perverted for the masses, (AVP) but I just think what we should be aiming for is better content, not no content.

Posted 2/21/2012 2:06:14 PMGood show as always. For streaming i would love to see PVE, it doesn't have to be raids. Hard mode flashpoints will do nicely. The "Choose a Hater's Fate" series is very cool, keep it going!
