I think you guys are jumping the gun on the level cap making the preivous tiers of content pointless.

The level cap increase appears to be very small. Probably 5 level max, or level 55. And current item mods on existing gear is level  51, 56, 58, 61, and possibly 63 in future content. As long as gear progression remains consistent, gear tier that is made completely irrelevent is Tionese gear, which is pretty much already irrelevant, because even columi is much much better and easily attainable.

Hey guys, I would just like to point out that James Ohlen and I think Daniel Erickson both said that the leveling wouldn't affect eldar game at all.  I believe they said that the current raid gear at the time and the current end game operations and Flashpoints would scale with the level increase.  Just wanted to point that out.  Carry  on!

Ok, so I have a comment that isn't about the content of your podcast, but the podcast itself.

I've been listening for about 2 months, I'm not a big fan/community site person, but when I do stumble upon one I like I tend to go all in.

I'm about 1/2 through this weeks podcast and I can't stand Sado anymore. Each podcast has gotten progressively worse. It's not his negativity, it's his apparent apathy toward the game and sometimes Pete and Cameron. It feels like when I listen, Sado is checked out, going through the motions, and frankly comes off as if he could give a flying ****. Pete this week, to contrast, sometimes sounds frustrated, beaten down, but there is still the impression that he cares about the game and the design decisions. He wants to rage or praise. Cameron seems to match my personality/approach of the game, cautious optimism. If Sato was the critical but still engaging personality, you would have a great roundtable, but all I picture Sado doing is shrugging his shoulders, reading his notes wondering how long this is gonna take. His responses to Pete and Cameron also sometimes come off like that, dismissive and simply unengaged. A Giant MEH.

The worse part, is that It makes me want to stop listening. I'm halfway through and I don't know if I care to finish. I like the info on the website, and I follow on facebook, twitter, I like being connected to the info you provide and the original info/guides you generate, I had hope the podcast would be an equal level of quality content but I'm having trouble justifying to myself to push play and finish the second half of the podcast.

I think its great you voiced your opinion on this because it's important they're aware that some of their listeners feel this way.  At the same time, I think Sado's opinions represent a large part of the community as well.  I don't take his meh's as doomsaying.  I take them as a sign that BW needs to do more.  I hope thd DH teams takes your comment into consideration but I also don't want to hear voices like Sado's silenced b/c lets be honest, millions of players have left the game for a reason.  They have a point of view as well.

I actually agree with alexandriapenrose here.

A podcast isn't about representation, it is about presentation, and I find Sado to not actually do that. It doesn't really matter that others feel like him, or perhaps more to the point, feel like he sounds. Those who are 'meh' are also the people who are the least likely to listen in the first place, and this certainly won't make them want to listen more. It's the same with shows and movies, would you care to watch them if the people involved couldn't care less? No.

The important thing in regards to the people who feel 'meh' is to get the reasons for that presented, not the actual behaviour.

    Charming... yes? http://imgur.com/r6WrI

The problem is I do care. I invest the majority of my time in a given week into the site so when I have a bad week on the podcast and it comes out, I apologize. Been dealing with too much real life stuff atm and I'm sorry it leaked into the cast this week.

Agreed. It's somewhat a product of the game - a lot of people feel this way and it's testament to the faliures of the game that people previously passionate about the game have been beaten down like this.

That being said, yeah, they need to sort this out. A podcast lives on the charisma of it's presenters and this has pretty much gone out the window. There are plenty of people who still feel passionate about this game. Get them on, and remove the people that clearly don't want to be there.

With the new level cap they made it clear, in my mind anyways, that they are not going the traditional expansion process. What that means is instead of gear item levels jumping 5 to 10 levels they will most likely treat it like it already is now of 1 item level increase and for end game gear it would just be the regular item level 64 or 65 to the current 63..It's no different then when new items are added when a new pvp or raid zone is added.

Cathar are going to be hugely popular on the Asian servers since almost every game has cat people in them.

Not necessarily. Due to the modular nature of TOR its possible that the new areas/planet  and increased level cap being introduced so soon after launch are parts of the game that just didnt make it into launch. Kind of like how WoW adds additional tiers after each expansion , Bioware may just be updating TOR to fit more closely to the "intended launch product."

That is not how games are released. WoW raises the level cap after every expansion because that is the standard practice for MMO's it's how they make the new content more important then the old content. By treating the new levels as something trivial and not as something as big as a expansion you end up reducing the difference between the old and new content.

why should the new content be anymore important than the old?  it's all level cap content, so instead of raising the cap (which causes gear/power creep and trivializes current content) expand the game horizontally (as Taugrim likes to say).  you can introduce new mechanics w/o resorting to raising levels.  you can introduce new gear sets w/o raising levels.  you can introduce new game types w/o raising levels.  increasing the level cap is the "old way" of expanding mmo games.
