Kotaku interview confirms conversation competition

Though the article reveals nothing new from what we have known for some time it is nice to have confirmation on one of the items that we speculated on in our first dissection:

The dialogue options available in this scenario to Zeshuck and Eisendel would be determined by the skills of their characters and some randomization. "You can either agree or compete on what game dialogue you want to have and what direction the story goes. Because at the end of the day you are making a decision on whether I'm going to kill the captain or save the captain that's a dark side choice, Erik doesn't want that. It's neat to have that potential interaction."

The other side of this is with companions. While you may want to do something for the dark side or light side points, you'll have to consider how this will impact your relationship with the companion. If this is a companion that you will want to go deep with, then you will want to appease them. If not, thing could go south later. There are multiple dynamics involved.

Unfortunately, I fear it will all devolve into somebodies wiki down the road. It will say "bring companion x and choose y for the most points - this is will help open the locked-quest later on... For the light side, bring companion z instead."

At the very least, hopefully they'll make sure decisions you don't decide for don't count against your karma loss.

I would love to see exactly how this plays out, because one of my nightmares in this game involves a 13 year tee heeing as he decides to murder the captain on a whim when I want to keep him alive.
