Friday Update: Inhabitants Launch & New Biographies

Sean Dahlberg alerted us to a new tab on the HoloNet: Inhabitants.

If you've been waiting for information about the colorful creatures, species, and droids that populate the galaxy, make sure to check out our new HoloNet expansion - Inhabitants! In this section you can find new information and media about the galactic inhabitants that will entertain and challenge you in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

Inhabitants will be updated regularly, so be sure to check back often to get the latest updates and information!

Darth Hater consensus speculation is none of the described Inhabitants are playable so far, including both Humanoids.

Plus, we were informed about three more characters we may see in game:

We've expanded the Biographies section of the HoloNet to include more of the exciting figures you will meet in Star Wars: The Old Republic!

This update includes profiles of three of the most influential people in The Old Republic era: Galactic Republic Special Forces commander, General Garza; the fierce warrior and sole ruler of the Mandalorians, Mandalore; and the star of the Deceived cinematic trailer, the ruthless Darth Malgus!

    It was shown to me by someone else. I think GDC was it's origin. I could be wrong though.

    I think it was more an example for the panel, rather than for TOR itself.

    For myself, I hope that aliens have some 'modulation' to their voice - so they sound less like humans - rather than sounding like Disney Characters (ie Talking Dogs that sound like a Human actor).

    We're going to explain this fully within the day -- keep checking back.

    Our focus since the update went up was trying to get consensus on things going on in screenshots. We still have a ton more coming. We just wanted to get that statement out there because that was the first thing we all had consensus on.

    If that is an IA in the "Possible Starport" photo... he's holding a pistol and a melee weapon. I haven't seen that before in a PC. I may have missed it.

    "Revealing Darth Malgus, Dark Lord of the Sith"

    This is the title of the article revealing the new book.

    Dark Lord of the Sith isn't just a name, it's a title.

    It's a title given to one of the most, if not the most prestigeous Sith in the Empire. In a rule involving the Emperor, it is solidified as a title of apprenticeship to the Emperor himself, reference being Palpatine and Vader. However, they were both considered Dark Lord's of the Sith due to the fact that they were both the most prominent and powerful Sith in the Empire, as well as including their status of rule.

    So in other words.

    Malgus = the Apprentice to the Emperor, or I could take this one step further...

    It is noted that after the sacking of coruscant, the Emperor left the Empire again to further his own goals.

    What if his own goals involved that of the Empire?

    After the sacking of Coruscant, Darth Malgus left as well.

    So there are also three possibilities that stem from this situation.

    1. That Darth Malgus could be the Emperor. [Unlikely]

    2. That Darth Malgus left with the Emperor, in order to learn under him, while securing more planets and space in the outer regions.

    3. It was just a coincidence.

    I really love the pictures of the Trandoshan!
    He is so good-looking and he knows it.. Look at him posing for the camera. The pictures must be from like a holiday with his girlfriend or something.
    1st and 3rd picture would be perfect as profilepictures :)

    General Garza definitely sounds like one of the prominent characters a Republic Trooper will encounter on their story. I've already seeing some of the less "dis-honorable" missions she gives you and you have to decide if you follow orders to a T or go AWOL and attempt to prove her treachery.

    Two of the screenshots of the Salky Hound suggest pet ownership, to me. Perhaps some of our companions will be considered true pets or droid ownership.
