Every Star Wars hero needs a companion. Han has Chewie, Luke has R2-D2 -- even Jabba has the cackling monkey lizard Salacious B. Crumb. These characters will compliment your strengths or weaknesses, and provide company for the epic journey you will inevitably undertake. Whether they're combative, friendly, flirtatious, or even just good for a laugh, they always contribute to your development and serve as a sounding board for your choices. In Star Wars: The Old Republic, a variety of these Companion Characters will join your cause.
Learn more about Companion Characters and how they can shape and enhance your game play by visiting the Game Systems section!

And speaking of the Sith Warrior, the class' HoloNet section is revamped with a new class icon, animations, a different layout, and expanded information:
Wondering how you will be able to customize the Sith Warrior to fit your specific play style? We are excited to confirm the two Advanced Classes for the Sith Warrior: The Juggernaut and the Marauder! Whether you want to charge into the fray as a Juggernaut, punishing your adversaries while protecting your allies, or slice through enemy ranks with two Lightsabers and unmatched aggression, the Advanced Classes system in Star Wars: The Old Republic will give you the power to match your play style.
In conjunction with the Companion Character section released today, we present you with one of the Sith Warrior's Companions -- Vette! You can learn more about this known associate on the Sith Warrior page or by accessing Vette's biography.
Check out the newly updated HoloNet to get details about the Advanced Classes available to the Sith Warrior. Also be sure to visit the media section for a new video featuring the Sith Warrior as well as some screenshots showing the Juggernaut and Marauder in action!
Sean Dahlberg's response to the spoiling aspect of revealing companions:
Solar is correct. As in the Companions section, each class has a completely unique set of Companions. That said, we will not be telling you about each of them right now. Some of them are surprises and might ruin the fun in learning who can and who can't be your companion. The ones we do highlight are generally the companions you will meet early on in your adventures.
And yes, Vette is indeed a companion available for the Sith Warrior.

It's a Jedi Knight, altough DH mistakenly said it's a Consular.
You can clearly see its a Knight because the ability he uses is a mirror ability of Sith's warrior one:

Besides, he's too big to be a consular which is also a hint since we havent seen any consular that bulky anywhere in their released media.
So don't worry about dual blade for JK and SW.

Posted 5/29/2010 9:21:50 AMIf you see a high-level Sith using a saber staff is it an Inquisitor? a Warrior? a Juggrnaught? a Marauder? an inquisitor AC?
Don't you see how this would be a bit "one-sided", in terms of identifying a class at a distance?

Posted 5/29/2010 8:22:14 PMSecond, my example was for pvp purposes. In a battleground/world you will be able to pick out a Gunslinger from a distance and have a tactic to use against him. If Jedi/Sith can use w/e saber type they want how do you tell them apart at a distance? If you see a high-level Sith using a saber staff is it an Inquisitor? a Warrior? a Juggrnaught? a Marauder? an inquisitor AC?

Posted 5/29/2010 2:31:34 PM"Probably mirrored for Jedi Knight with a setup like above, but maybe with the Inquisitor & Consular it's having only a single saber & double bladed saber Advanced Class format instead?"
I am guessing the Jedi Knight will have the specialization of Guardian (single blade), and Weapon Master (double blades).
Personally, I only want to play with a single blade, though I don't want to have thick heavy armor. I am hoping the armor doesn't make me "look" like a tank. Basically, when I think of a Jedi Knight, I think of Obi-Wan from Revenge of The Sith.

Posted 5/29/2010 4:26:28 PMSure, you've seen pictures of this class wielding that weapon, but what it comes down to is which is the class designed for (I wish it was a wide variety)? I could run around WoW as an 80 rogue with one dagger, but who would invite me to group?
If you look at the Sith Marauder description, the first sentence is very telling.

Posted 5/28/2010 9:11:31 PMPlease have faith in the developers, damn it!
As long as we don't know any of the skill sets for "tanking", "dpsing" and "healing" we CAN'T have a clue what BW is going to do with 'em, so your complaints are pure speculation ...
I'm still very thrilled about every little piece they show off without being all "I want them to exactly do what I want or I'm going to cry!". ;P
