E3: Star Wars: The Old Republic on IGN

For those interested, IGN will be doing a live review of Star Wars: The Old Republic at E3. It will air at 6:40pm EDT, 3:40pm PDT, or 11:40pm GMT. It will be 20 min review. The link is posted below.

IGN Live at E3

Update: The interview was short but we were able to get a few things from it below.

Highlights
  • Warzone combat referred to as chaotic. Conflict is key, many more warzones are possible.

  • Player Ships function as Player Houses by James Ohlen. Looks that players will not have a house in addition to a ship.

  • Truly an MMO, combination of story and elements of an MMO, not a single player game

Apparently E3 is mostly about console advertising. There were tons of well done interviews, but only about console games. The whole TOR "interview" was somewhat squeezed between console parade. It is really puzzling why cartoon like (made from children drawings) console games could get much more attention, then a 100 times bigger and 100 times more complex PC game. My only guess is, that there weren't enough money involved.

DH interviews ftw. That wasn't an interview, more of what you say to someone when you pass them on the street.

Yeah, this interwiev was indeed short... but what do you expect from the IGN crew? Really? Some of them are *clueless* models reading of a telepromter (even got thier jokes written for them) and some of them just lost. Darth Haters crew on the other hand you can count on. The interwiev with them confirmed alot. Thanks!

Very true. I would never subscribe to these other websites after I haven seen how they conduct their "interviews" and all the write ups they do, which always lack detail.

I blinked and it was over.

If this is all bioware has to show this E3 then it's disappointing.
  • #27 AyreZero
You really think this was BioWares doing? Really?
  • #34 Chino
Yes you know why? because they can't talk about things in the game.

If this e3 was disappointing i think you expect too much. I've been incredibly happy with it so far. If nothing else just seeing the game as polished as it is so early was a big deal to me.

As far as more info I think we've gotten pretty much all of it for now. They mentioned this Friday will be a "big" fan Friday, so I doubt any more significant info will be released on that day. Tomorrow could yield more, but I doubt it.

    No more lore please!

Well, he did mention there was more to the ships that they were not ready to announce yet, which might mean just about anything. Crafting? Some sort of space exploration mini-game? Guess we'll find out when we find out.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in joy and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I am glad I sat this one out and waited for the highlights.

You know what? I'm not even gonna try watch swtor live streams anymore. The traffic is always so rediculously huge that it just doesn't load until theyve finshed talking about it.. Gaaaaaah! /rant

IGN's live stream is really stable, you should have gone straight to IGN instead of getting to it through Darth Hater.
