Deceived Book Pushed to 2011

Earlier today, we learned the eagerly awaited Star Wars: The Old Republic novelization Deceived will now be released March 2011. Speaking on his personal blog, the author Paul S. Kemp posted the following statement.

Some of you may already know this, but Deceived, my next Star Wars novel, will be released in March 2011, rather than December 2010. I understand the move was made because there is a desire to time the release of the novel nearer to the release of the Old Republic MMORPG.

This is unfortunate news for everyone patiently waiting to dive head first into the lore and narrative surrounding The Old Republic; just make sure to keep March in your calenders and an open spot on your reading list. Hat tip to Tim

This is probably a pretty good sign that we won't see TOR released till May or June. They tend to use novels and extra content to keep rabid fans busy! haha

This probably means we can expect the Deceived novel to be packaged in some type of collector's edition as well.

Well, if we follow BioWare's history with pre launch books for ME, ME2 and DA:O, you can expect Deceived to hit stores around 30-60 days before launch, to coincide with the pre-launch marketing campaign. Since the release date is apparently March 22, 2011. That would put the window at April 22 - May 22nd. Taking into account that May is the dead center of the spring 2011 target release and pretty much is Star Wars month (May the Fourth, Star Wars Anniversary) and May 2011 looks like a pretty solid bet.
