Sweet! Thanks Sado, I really like the format too! I hope this is a regular feature.

Damn it I love James Ohlen, that interview was great.

They don't seem huge, but when you factor in the interior parts of the starter planets (Ord Mantell's bases, Korriban's tombs), and the vertical size, I think they will be sufficiently large enough starter zones.

After reading all three, these were the most important points from each of them for me:

First - Good to hear Ord Mantell is going to be big

Second - I would HATE it to see sith with green/blue and jedi with red lightsabers

Third - The animations still look awkward, which is surprising since we're getting closer to release. I wonder if these animations, which anyone finds ugly, are a problem in the dev's eyes at all or if they are the final product.

Good to see this feature/article. I haven't read the official forums in a while because it's simply too much work to go through this heap of nonsense everyday. It's good to see DH doing a "Readers Digest" for us lazy ones :)

One of the interviews from awhile back stated that the starting planets are tiny compared to the rest of the planets. So we are going to have some massive planets.

In the interview with James Ohlen from SWTOR Station, he acknowledges that there are still problems with animation and that it's still a work in progress. He stated they'll probably be working on it until release.
    So, nothing to fear... yet.

you are right, must have skipped that part. That's good news. But still: who knows what the devs see as a problem? Or if they think robotic movement needs to be adressed? we'll find out eventually, but isn't it strange that they didn't do anything in this regard during the last year?

The new animations may also not be implemented in the build they have been showing us. Who really knows umong us if it was the current build or not, also thay may have( and is most likely) a large list of single mob animations to work on to eniviornments to any number of things to be animated. I presume that the movements are in this long list and we have what a least 7 months. I think you are way over reacting to this issue.

I noticed some problems and many other sites have pointed at them as well, so I expect BW, being the experienced dev team we know, can recognize them as problem needing fixing. That said, we can't be sure, we just have to trust them.
As he pointed out, animations in an MMO is a nightmare development wise, so I'm not surprised it is still a work in progress some 8 months away from release.

    Watch this interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DDSwNCwkFSI

After 4:00 James talks about animations and how they're hard at work polishing and improving them and expect the process to take all the way up to release.

I noticed that from the interview with James Ohlen that BW seems to be getting more comfortable talking about specific details. Perhaps this is the beginning of the ramp up period? All I can say is that I am excited to see what happens at PAX.

I'm expecting a Crafting related annoncement at PAX... Or maybe it's just wishful thinking...

Great job guys! I like this little round up of info! Makes life alot easier, bc i prefer DH for my main source of TOR info :)

Awesome info on the LS colors, atleast we got all the colors down pat (assuming I read the statement right) I'm probially going to use Red only for my Sith classes, but yellow (and red) for my Jedi classes. Still, as far as Jedi Knights go, while I will be playing a DS jedi(s) I would prefer if the red crystal was awarded for doing something rather henious as a Jedi/off of a harder boss later in the game, as it would allow DS jedi to show how far they've fallen, and keep red lightsabers sith only for the majority of the game.

(also looking forward to redeeming myself during my 2nd playthrough of the 8 classes lightside). :-p All other details listed in this post are icing on the cake.

The exact wording on the different Lightsaber colors is:
"We will definitely have all the Lightsaber colors you know from the movies. So there's red, blue, green, yellow, even purple."

Leaves a bit of room for interpretation - there may be more and I mean, why wouldn't there be? It's quite easy to implement more colors and more customization isn't a bad thing, especially on such a defining feature.

Also, is there anything else you guys need translated from German into English? ;)
