Flashpoint Taral V Trailer

Gamespot revealed a new flashpoint trailer: Taral V, intended for players level 32 or higher. Your Republic team must rescue an important Jedi prisoner. Gamespot conducted an interview with World Designer, Jesse Sky. When asked about the game's state, Sky said, "Development is going very well, and were all happy to be heading into our homestretch." For our take on the contents of the Flashpoint Taral V Trailer, check the media gallery below for the Working Dissection. Note: As always we will be ignoring things commented on in past dissections. We will be adding more to the gallery over time so make sure to keep checking back throughout the weekend. If you see something that you think we should add, feel free to comment on it and we will credit you for the find in the image.

I wouldn't read too much into it. They didn't show anyone healing in the Imperial group for Revan's Tomb video either.

    Uhm.. woah?

I'll post something senseable later, for now I have to put my jaw back up.

And I don't understand this comment: "Note: As always we will be ignoring things commented on in past dissections."?

This Jedi Prisoner is obviously going to be someone important. Has a very "Bastila Shan with Battle Command" KOTOR 1 feel to it.

The comment about dissections simply means that there might be something noticeable or interesting in the video but it's not going to be pointed out if it has already been seen in prior updates/dissections.

Sometimes this will be done however, if something looks updated or improved in some fashion or another.

Not to be a dork, but it's "Battle Meditation" :P

Dork or not you're right, I stand corrected. ;)

Is it just me or have the running animations improved as well?

I noticed this too. That makes me very happy.

Consular one didn't seem much different to me, but I'll check it out again later.

After watching again even the Consulars looks better to me, which is good. Although, it might just be because the Consular was using a single saber instead of the double lightsaber. But, looked like an improvement to me.

Yep, after watching the video again, the running animation seems much more natural. Great.

To be a critic: the melee animation (those annoying lightsabers :D ) still doesn't seem fluid, and the famous colliding blades are mispaced sometimes. And while the characters are definitely improved, they are still kinda have a painted plastic looks.
But overall I do see a lot of improvement (and somewhere I stumbled across a screenshot showing greatly imroved facial maps, so I have a hope that the game itself is ahead of the state of this animation :D )

It also seems that they improved on the tracking blaster bolts. A good example is when the trooper uses the flurry of bolts on the large black droid/trooper in the hallway (pic 15 in the media gallery for reference). It seems they either timed it right to do just the right amount of damage for him to die at the last bolt or they sped up the animation of the bolts to get there before the baddie starts to fall to avoid tracking. Although there is still a hint of tracking when the NPC the smuggler shoots in the back is shooting at the JK so its not totally eradicated.

Near the end of the video they seem to have a different running animation than at the start. Hmm.

Videos like this make the game seem closer to release than ever before. I do hope they announce if there will be RP servers before launch.

Already have, their will be. Check the dev tracker at swtor.com. It's older but, in there.

Very cool! Love to see things about flashpoints and to hear the game is nearing completion. By the way 16 could be a guardian that is DPS spec, this would indicate they can still only use one saber but they have to give up the heavy armor.
