PAX East begins in just one week and Star Wars: The Old Republic will be there!

Inside the main PAX East exhibition hall, visitors to Booth 912 will be among the first in the world to play the mid-game Republic Flashpoint, Taral V! Taking the role of a Trooper, Smuggler, Jedi Knight or Jedi Consular, you'll team up with other players in an extended hands-on gameplay experience. This is a challenging mission which even MMO veterans may find difficult, but we will prepare everyone who plays with a tactical briefing at the booth.

Conquered Taral V? Experienced every Origin World? There's still more. Throughout all three days of PAX East we'll be giving presentations of Star Wars: The Old Republic from our booth stage, including live Q&A sessions with Developers from the BioWare Austin team. Ask James Ohlen (Lead Designer) and Daniel Erickson (Lead Writer), as well as other team members, your burning questions.

If you can't make the trip to Boston, never fear... we'll be keeping you up to date from the show floor via our Community Forums, our Twitter feed and via our official Facebook page.

I noticed the cathar on the vidoe was carrying a yellow lightsaber, cool. But has been bothering me with the Bounty Hunter and I finally know what it was. In every screenshot we see them holding one or dual pistol blasters, I'm beginning to fear they aren't allowed to use blaster rifles of any sort. Hopefully I'm wrong

I wish I was going. Sounds like a great time. Having said that, I really hope that they give a release date at Pax East. I need something to renew my excitement. I know every week someone say's this and I guess this one is mine. I will still play, i just want something to renew my enthusiasm. Those of us that were playing SWG heard about this back in what 2005/2006 when BioWare moved to Austin? I find my time checking sites and info is becoming less and less. Honestly if not for DH crew I prob wouldn't even check at all, but I like the podcast.

I noticed something intriguing. At :59 of the BH video the NPC is duel wielding different pistols, while this might not seem like something worth noting, as far as I know this is the first time we've seen blasters that weren't an identical pair. If I am wrong, I'd love to have a link to other instances.

I saw that too. So like KotOR, you could have 2 different weps in each hand, one being more powerful than the other. So maybe this is the case in SWTOR as well.

I would hope so, it seems like an obvious thing, but like I mentioned this is the first time I've seen it in-game.

One of the screenies from the BH update has Aurebesh that reads "Taunted by Tarro." I've got a sneaking feeling that Tarro is a rival Bounty Hunter in the BH class arc.

I am the light that brings the dawn.

Making a second comment because it's a completely separate remark, but Stephen Reid said this on the TOR forums earlier: "There's definitely time to enjoy the setup of the Flashpoint (a conversation with Master Oteg) and get through to the boss. That said, there's definitely more 'gameplay' and less 'story' in the section of Taral V you'll be playing."

Does that mean the Yoda-ian from the Taral V flashpoint trailer is named Oteg? The trailer depicted it as the Master setting up the flashpoint, and Reid's remark mentions a Master Oteg that also sets up Taral V. Weird odd name for a Yoda-ian, doesn't match up with Yoda/Yaddle/Minch/Vandar Tokare. The oddness of the name sounds more like it's from a random name generator.

On http://media.dhcdn.com/2011/03/2414/d5mantis11.jpg what does the text say on the door to the ship? I can make out all the other labels. "Engine Thrust", "Landing Gear", and "Engine Folded", but not all of the 2nd one down the right side. All I can make out is what looks like "Docking Hater part of ramp/landing door", but the word "hater" doesn't make sense there, and possibly "Docking". Any ideas?

I don't know if anyone else has mentioned/noticed this but a lot of those pictures are watermarked 2010 so they are at least 3 months old.

Sweet I made the Dev Tracker again:) My questions about the Taral V playthough at PAX got answered!

"How many players can the booth accommodate at one time? Will we play the game in groups or will seats be filled as players get up? Will playtime be on a timer and if so what is length of the play time? Also, thanks for bringing SWTOR to the east coast this year."

Thanks for having us, East Coast. (Is it 'East Coast'? Or 'east coast'? I never get that.)

We're going to keep quiet for now on how many players the booth can accommodate, as we don't want our rivals changing their plans.

Suffice to say it's a significant number. We have a 30ft by 50ft booth (plus the stage booth), and have to save space for queuing and the like, but we've tried to fit a decent number of stations to play on there. The majority of the stations will be setup to play Taral V.

For Taral V, you'll be playing in groups, and we'll be swapping groups in and out on a schedule. You'll have 45 minutes to get as far as you can through the Flashpoint. There's a certain boss that if you defeat, well... you'll get rewarded. Details will be revealed at the show.

In total, Taral V can be up to 90 minutes of playtime. That's impractical for the show for a number of reasons, so we chose to give you an extended demo of 45 minutes instead. It'll give you a nice long look at mid-level content that's group specific.

Seems there are multiple rewards, being hinted at. Just no beta invites given out. Their booth is going to get hammered and with 45 minute demos plus origin world demos.
