PAX East: Interview With Stephen Reid

Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Manager Stephen Reid took a few moments away from his PAX East duties to casually chat with Darth Hater about the abundance of yellow text we see in the DevTracker lately, the recent launch of the Guild Headquarter feature, and what it is like handling around one million forum members clamoring for a release date. As always, we'd like to thank Stephen Reid and David Bass plus the their hardworking team for the hospitality they showed the Darth Hater staff and all the fans at PAX East.

    I concur.

I'd certainly rather listen to him than James "I'm an excellent driver" Ohlen :P

Although I'm sure he's a lovely fellow really and very informative, I've felt like gnawing my own leg off during some of that guy's mumblings.

We had to make a choice on Friday to upload this interview or the Space Combat presentation video.

We pulled the Saturday quote from here, printed it on the site on Friday, and after excruciating deliberation and debate, we chose to put up the Space Combat presentation.

I'm not complaining, I loved both videos. Thanks for the hard work you guys put into the site.

    @Dover:

After watching this interview and the previous Hall Hood one, I just wanted to say I think you really did a first-rate job as interviewer. Might seem a silly detail to point out, but IMO it makes a huge difference and is truly enjoyable to see when it's well done. Very professional.

Anyway, just pointing it out as it's something often overlooked and perhaps not fully appreciated.

    Cheers

Agreed, this is some of the things that should be pointed out more. Good job, Dover! :-)

Thanks guys. I find that I really enjoy doing interviews but I have yet to actually watch any of these videos after the fact. Believe it or not, I actually have a significant amount of stage fright that I have been dealing with since I was a kid. When I watch myself I over analyze everything (I move my hands too much, I talk too much, etc...)

    I appreciate the thumbs up.

I understand what you mean, I don't like to re-watch my self either for that same exact reason. But just for the sake of pointing it out, you were doing just fine in this interview, if there was something that bothers than I would have said it ;)

Once you realize, nobody cares as much as you do...which sounds flippant, but isn't. We are always our own worst critics, which can be good, if it motivates self improvement.

You ask good questions, don't interrupt answers, accept final answers and ask good follow up questions. Keep up the good work; great vids.

Aww, no transcription. I can't view the videos at work. /sadface.

    me 3 ... doh! :( tears

    lol I just realized something

TOR news and DH info is a drug to me...

AND...this is some good stuff, high quality, but the withdrawals are terrible...and when I needs a fix I needs a fix! So basically last week/weekend with all the great info was like a Charlie Sheen Blowout Weekend blowing 8 gram rocks of TOR...now its the week after....
    anyone else know the feeling?

We still have a lot more to put up.

The dripping Brit sarcasm gets lost in text. Enjoy the video when you get home.
