We're pleased to reveal the "Eternity Vault" - a maximum level "Operation," which is our term for raids, in Star Wars: The Old Republic. Hope you like it. Be sure to check tomorrow for more news and developments coming out at E3.

A terrible threat has been uncovered on the ice world of Belsavis; a danger so grave that it could make the conflict between the Republic and the Empire irrelevant. Groups of heroes must band together to venture into the ancient and deadly Eternity Vault-where an enemy older than both the Republic and the Empire has been contained until now.

During the beginning assault, while fighting the duel turrets (1:09 - 1:10), that is a hell of a jump attack by the Marauder to land on top of the turret.

the assassin's force bubble could be the same as the sorcerer's as seen in the Tatooine game play, in which case it would be a damage absorption shield. although, i guess talents could change it in some respects.

This video seems to confirm that the Rattatakans are still alive and plays a role in Endgame. The Infinity Empire would pose a major threat to both the Sith and Jedi.

Picture 1 dissection is incorrect, those aren't dropships, they are escape pods

Anyone else think they said Belsavis weird? I've always said it "Bel-suh-viss", but the guy in the trailer said it as "Bel-sav-is".

I do like how they arrive at the Vault, by escape pods due to their ship being shot by the Vault's defenses, then having to find each other in the snowy wastes. It really gives a feel of getting in over their heads and hitting the ground running, contrasting WoW where you enter all the raids through a portal and do your thing with everyone together from the start. I hope all of TOR's Operations keep that kind of immersive frenetic mission feel. Maybe designating them as Operations means they will keep that feel across them.

I really liked this new trailer. I hope even post-launch BioWare Austin makes trailers like that for all their upcoming content. Blizzard did it a few times, notably with Zul'Aman in Patch 2.2 or so. But having a nice trailer like that for all content patches(not just the flashpoints/operations, maybe one for warzones and other activities) would go a long ways towards making me excited for every post-launch content patch.

Oh, it appears that the Eternity Vault Boss at the end of video has been positively identified. I'm not very happy about this at all and I'm not sure it fits with the lore at the time. BW has some serious explaining to do and we can only hope for perhaps a change before launch:

You get to kill him and loot his corpse... why doesn't this make you happy??
  • #29 heybarn
Makes me sick to go near him ;-) But yeah, killing him = good point!

Loving this trailer. Great editing, awesome musical score. Logain voice actor narration ftw.

Don't underestimate the power of a cool RAID trailer to really gain momentum among WoW burnouts or current Cataclysm raiders with one foot out the door. A lot of people have just been waiting for visual proof of end game raid content. And this looks sweet.

Of course we need to know much more, but they sure can put together a trailer that makes you WANT to know more. I guess that's the point.

Do you think those red "stormtrooper" npcs at :39 & :40 secs are part of that 'red guard' (Crimson guard?) mentioned from the BoTE comic? Shoulder logo on them is new? Memory fails...

Oh, at :55 secs in on the left we see player armour as seen in the timeline "Battle of Bothawui" video. The red guys in this image:

Look a bit like the Emperor's Royal Guard in RoTJ aka red bishops ;-)

Here is a screen shot with a count of the players on the screen I counted 17 in this view.

Do we know if you can bring companions into operations or just regular 4 man flashpoints?
  • #34 Viruschill
I believe I heard somewhere where they said no companions in operations, but of course there still testing. I think it was the DH DE interview. I'll have to double check
  • #21 Corona
There's also a guy above 15, but either way, it points towards 20+ man raids....which is good.
  • #20 blackfrost
well we do know for sure that flashpoints will be 4 man, and small operations will be 8 man, and there will be different type of difficulties, so logically, 4+4=8 (small), 4+4+4+4=16 (medium), 4+4+4+4+4+4=24 (large). mind you this is just a guess
