for the companions he said that you get 5 unique characters per class not including the driod you find aboard the ship so its actually seems that theres going to be other companions that everybody can find

The quote that comes from seems to me to be a confirmation that all the companions a class gets are unique to it.

    Edit:

"Right now, you'll be able to have up to five unique companions per character in The Old Republic. We're still looking at this in Game Testing, but that's the current number. Any one of them can accompany you on missions.

That number does not include a droid (one for Republic, one for Empire) that's found on your ship."

I do agree that this statement could be interpretted the way you did but, it seems to make more sense to me the other way, given how they have always talked of companions in the past.

Either way I think it'll be fun to see what the answer is.

So... what was sexy about the speeders? Didn't look appealing to me at all the way they are right now, only feeling I got was that I'm going to be riding them as rarely as possible. Good thing is they still have a lot of time to change things.
Overall I was at least quite satisfied with the gameplay, figured they wouldn't showcase all the abilities of the class at this point in time... Do wish they'll make the lightsaber be more than just for show.

And oh, great job in the music department, it really adds a good feel to it.

Oh thank goodness I'm not the only one who doesn't like the speeder. I keep thinking the player will fall off, or it will unbalance itself. And it doesn't even feel funny to ride (too slow being the issue with this particular one).
A more STAP-like construction would be alright for the early slow mount, but this one is oddly too bulky. Ah well, having seen a Sith ride on a Darth Maul bike I know there will be nice mounts as well.

By the way, the lightsaber isn't for show apparently. If you look carefully in the skillbook when he ports 'home', you will see that he has a saberskill. Not an important one, just a basic attack. And there is at least once when a blasterbolt is deflected away. So the saber is going to be used in a manner that is fitting for the class.

    Charming... yes? http://imgur.com/r6WrI

I call it the TAKE-A-DUMP MOBILE.

I don't _hate_ the speeder, but... well, it's not perfect to say the least.

as nice it is to finally see some good quality gamplay of a higher level player as sad it makes me to see how bad the "mages" robes are animated compared to the cloaks and short robes that other armor types have.

A local theater here in Dallas, the Inwood is showing TRON this Friday and Saturday at Midnight. I can't wait.

Its simply amazing how the music adds so much to the gameplay, both in and out of combat.

for those who thought they were getting 10+ companions, 5 has been confirmed.
  • #42 darthuser1508
Seems that way. It makes sense, I think, since each one has to be integrated into your class story, which is in itself divided into chapters. It would be kind of hectic if every couple of levels you got a new companion. As of now it seems like a new companion roughly 1 every 10 levels, which is reasonable.

    5 confirmed on Dev Tracker
  • #62 Xavier
5 Companions, 5 seems to be the number for crew skills too. Coincidence?
  • #44 zechio
Hmm, where was 5 confirmed? Only time I heard it was the comment of 5 companions crafting at once on every character. However we already knew that 5 was the max number of companions crafting at once, but I'm pretty sure they said that was not the max amount of companions.
