E3 2011: GameTrailers Demo Walkthrough Dissection

During E3 2011, GameTrailers was able to get a personal walkthrough of Tatooine with Creative Director and Lead Designer of Star Wars: The Old Republic James Ohlen. Most importantly for us, the game on screen gave users a close look at the nitty gritty details including a look at the new character screen, skill tree, and much more. As with all of our dissections, items noted in prior dissections will not be mentioned here again unless otherwise important. Feel free to add your thoughts and items you noticed in the videos. If we decide to use your find, we will credit you in the dissection. See the Media Gallery below for the dissection.

One thing I noticed is that gear can have multiple enhancements on them. (indicated by the blue text when the item is hovered over). I believe my belt had Hardened (25) and 2 other ones I can't remember off hand.

Why the heck didn't they get James to do the official Tatooine walkthrough. He seems to know how to play the sorcerer alot better!

The companion seemed pretty amazing - he could solo mobs quite happily - in fact I think towards the end he clears a group himself while James chats.

Finally, he mentions release date; significantly for me he indicates they know a release date internally (duh, basic project management I guess)... I'm wondering if they're going to leave it quite late.

"SWTOR will release in 30 days!"

"Icons for open slots unknown" in Image 2 are "Relic" slots :)

Yeah, we reported relic slots over a year ago.

Yeah, just went through the Gamespot dissection and noted that. Should have done that one before heading to this one now that I realize it. Thanks for the report either way.

Second unreadable option may be "Location"
Seems logical that there would be place to click on that would show you where the quest objectives are on the map.

    Pure speculation on my part.

From what some of our guys are saying that had hands-on with the game, it is untrack. Updating the image now.

Seeing your party members quest log is something mmos have needed for a LONG time. Finally someone is doing it.

LotRO has something similar already where it will show if they are on the same quest as you are or further back in the quest chain. This looks like a substantial improvement though as it actually shows you their quest log and map locations too.
