The armor, weapons, etc. were all impressive, but the enemies in this video were just too incompetent to show them off properly. In the second Powertech scene for example, nobody seems to notice the sprinting Bounty Hunter until he murders their commander. Then the Trooper misses an entire volley point blank followed by the Sentinel getting stabbed in the face with a letter opener. Did he poison their water or something?
Also during the "arena" scene around :30 the BH seems to have an ally. Companion maybe?

I think that all Armor Progression Videos are like that, enemies are incompetent and die in one or two hits

They all are, even the Intro Videos of the Classes were like that. They dumb down the Enemies to show case the Animations of the Weaponry and Items.

The videos would be way to slow paced if they actually had competent enemies. Even at the end where that giant creature came out it only took as long to kill it as abilities he had, including the FALCON PUNCH!

You don't have to dumb them down, all you have to do is lower their HP.

I'm sort of saddened that there wasn't really a "Bodyguard" Merc demonstration in the video, let alone how having a big blue bubble on a Merc confused me to no end. If it's an anti-threat bubble, he sure did attract the Iron Giant.

The blaster effects were cool, for sure, but I liked the first BH armor progression video by far because Death From Above way way more animated the first time, rather than "I fly up and pew pew 5 times and then a rocket". That makes it seem rather boring thing to do that could have been done on the ground instead. Then came the wrist blade, and all was at peace again.... temporarily.

That last scene.... my god was that convoluted. He kills four doods (more like duds, but hey) and then a giant monster comes out of nowhere from down a long ass corridor in the Collector's ship, just to bash on this guy? What, did he aggro Harbinger or something? BH goes pew pewz, doesn't work, so he uses missles. Those don't work, so he's then justified in using a rocket uppercut? Could you tell if he had the wrist blade from the Powertech armor or something, otherwise you'd probably be more productive using rail shots or something other than your fist.

A much better way to shoot the final fight would have been to kite the guy while stacking the heat seeking buff then shooting super powered rockets at him.

I tend to agree. This certainly wasnt one of their better video compilations.

To me, it made the BH look less appealing and boring.

To the contrary I thought it was pretty awesome. I see what you all are saying in some of the cheesiness of the things the BH did or what the NPC's didn't do, but in terms of how the game looks now in its current state was very impressive and made me excited to see more because the game is looking even more polished after every video. If this was boring then I don't know what people are expecting lol. If anything, it got me more excited about the class even though I am not playing it.

Although the game itself looks really nice and the polish seems to be coming along, the video really made BH seem boring to me as well.

Come on--he uppercuts a 30 foot-tall monster! If it makes you feel any better, he sent a wrist spike up into the monster's brain or something. But really, I don't want to live in a world where everybody can't just enjoy seeing a giant monster getting K.O.ed with an uppercut. Suspend your disbelief, man!

I agree. Game looks good and the polishes are looking promising.

However, the BH gameplay in this video just looked boring and overly 'coddled' -- It looked like something my 7 year old nephew scripted (and then Bam! I kill him with a super punch...). Even Luke's fight with the rancor took longer and looked less cheesy.

Personally, I saw it as the bounty hunter using lasers and then rockets to damage the big bad, and then using the rocket punch to finish him off. It looked kind of silly, yeah, but I thought it was cool. I mean, he punched Cthulu! How cool is that?
  • #82 LuckyArc
The thing is, you can't really punch Cthulu. By the time you actually get close to him, he'd infect your mind and you'd start worshiping him, ergo, you're not going to punch him from now until eternity.

Secondly, that guy didn't look like Cthulu. Do not insult the Old Gods by comparing their relative beauty with the spawn of a rancor and gamorrean PoS. Plus, he had crooked teeth.

You mean 'suspend your disbelief' like when the Fonz Jumped the Shark? ;-)
