SWTOR Available for Pre-Order Now



At approximately 10pm PT, several sites including MMORPG.com, WoWWiki.com, WoWHead.com, etc. all sported new ads for Star Wars: The Old Republic pre-orders. Each ad had the same identifierand lead to a dead page on SWTOR.com. Pre-orders became available shortly after midnight via the official Star Wars: The Old Republic website and various retailers.

    Just tried pre-ordering the CE in-store at my local Gamestop in Canada. I have tried both of my local stores, with the same response from the managers. Both have told me that Pre-Orders are completely sold out in Canada and that the only place now is Amazon. The managers also said that only 900 copies of the CE are available in gamestops across Canada (300 gamestops, 3 each).

    Just tried pre-ordering the Collector's Edition in-store at my local Gamestop in Canada. I have tried both the Okotoks and Calgary stores, with the same response from the managers. Both have told me that Pre-Orders are completely sold out in Canada and that the only place now is Amazon, which I have checked and is 50$ more than what other companies list it as (150$). The managers also said "Only 900 copies (of the CE) have been secured by our stores In the entire NATION of Canada. We also have about 300 stores, so that's only 3 copies per store. We are working on securing more copies and will give you an email or call if we get any more."
    Has anyone else in Canada come across this?

    My laptop uses a radeon hd 4200 gfx will i be able to run swtor?

    I'm kind of worried with the following:
    I live in the Netherlands and pre-ordered my CE copy from Amazon. Estimated delivery time by Amazon will be 2 to 4 days.

    The FAQ section says:
    When does Early Game Access end?

    Early Game Access will end on the day that Star Wars: The Old Republic is officially released to the general public.


    So does this mean that there will be a 2 to 4 days gap for me before I can continue to play? I.e I have got the physical copy since the Early Game Access has ended?

    I would have to say that I am fairly disappointed, I live in New Zealand and have been following this game since it was announced, I have never complained or spammed or griped I have always been supportive of Bioware and own all their games. However, this announcement that we will miss out at the start and cannot get involved in the beta has me thinking they I may not bother. I am really really gutted and don't know how to express the anger I feel. I understand that their are commercial realities. Now if Barrack Obama can meet with our Prime Minister today surely EA in all their money grabbing glory can find a way to support the game. world wide!

    Am I the only one who got the notion of "limited launch"?
    I think it means they will only let a certain amount of people into the game, or am I mistaken?

    It's disturbing to read; "I pre ordered my CE from gamestop in store and got my code" I went in to my EB games and as per usual they didn't know anything. They didn't even have the SKU number FOR the CE so I had to pre buy the regular edition and hope I get upgraded :s they didn't even know about pre order codes.. is it just this store that is brainless? It's quite frustrating.

    I walked right into Gamestop and bought my regular version without a hassle. Much like their DLC that they sell in-store, the code was just printed on my receipt. Don't know if the CE doesn't have a code on the receipt, I've heard of some people having to call Gamestop on the phone to get their codes.

    Well, they seem brainless and at this level of consumer support, they kind of deserve to go down.

    Better cancel the preorder and get it on origin or amazon, just to be sure.

    has anybody from germany already gotten his early access code from amazon? i got an email but there was a variable where the code was supposed to be (${things} o), support says the codes havent gone out yet

    oh and btw: german amazon lists october 21st as release date! /discuss

    Why would you ever buy the game from German Amazon, when with the conversion rates, you can save about 20 if you buy it in America? ;D

    The release date seems kinda right.

    The code is supposed to print on your receipt. That's what I got when I bought mine at Gamestop. One receipt with the code and one receipt for the game and the $25 i put down.
