For Gamestop they'll allow preorders of the CE until they get an email to stop accepting them. Nobody but corporate will know when that is going to be though since the stores aren't told until the CEs are in-reservable.

Oh ok well i had my eye on the Digital Deluxe Download, so i may just try for that. Hopefully since it is digital, they won't run out of supplies?
  • #193 AnthonyEBonds
Oh really? I didn't know that, but it makes sense. I'll keep that in mind.

Found this on the official forum. There's a release on the EA investor page, and it includes "holiday 2011" as the launch target and unveils a beta weekend program for September:

As anticipation grows, BioWare also proudly announced today that Star Wars: The Old Republic will open "Beta Test Weekends" starting this September. These weekend play sessions will be open to selected players worldwide and create an opportunity for fans to get a sneak peek of the epic stories, worlds, quests, battles and characters in the game. Do me a favour DH-team and try to keep up with any breaking news regarding the region fiasco. I'd love to say I want to sift through this bullshit but I guess that's why I come here.

Preordered from Amazon (Australian) and obviously like everyone else I'm less than happy.

Same ... Please keep us posted on the region restrictions.

Ohes noes... Just picked up the CE. That's a lot of cash!

Still, 2.50 savings from Game, Yay!

Got the CE. I'm out of region but I picked it up from Amazon in the US. Yen --> dollar rate lowered the price a little for us on this side of the pond.

Being from Slovakia, I had to cheat a little with this pre-order. Like using http://bit.ly/rk0tau instead of regular https://preorder.origin.com/ . And then by faking my country, because Slovakia was not in the list.

I done this and now, my swtor account has pre-order key registered.

Just pre-ordered the CE. Now if only I had a computer capable of playing this game.

    Damn!

My day of excitement has quickly turned into one or anger & resentment. The Oceanic community had posted concerns about a delayed release a few months back only to be ignored & now our worst fears are realized.

I bit the bullet & ordered from Amazon with no real idea if I can play, if latency will be acceptable, if there will be IP bans or even if they will accept my credit card for payment. BW has left me with a really, really empty feeling.
  • #189 Hiro-Protagonist
If it is any consolation, Stephen Reid confirmed that there will be no IP bans, but latency may be a problem.

I purchased the standard digital. Their Jedi mind trick to buy the CE version did not work.

Any word on how many pre orders so far????
  • #118 keginkc
I haven't seen any word so far, but I'm somewhat surprised by how many people I've seen saying they pre-ordered the CE on the official forums. I wonder how much of that is due to the real world items and how much is due to the store.

I know I probably would have bought the digital deluxe edition if it came with the same ingame store, and I'm hoping that it being limited to the CE doesn't end up being a bait-and-switch and I find out later it's part of the DDE (although it's clearly not listed...). I mean, the malgus statue and the map are nice and all, but all I really care about is what kind of stuff I can get ingame.

I have a feeling their sales are doing pretty well so far, in any case.
