I loved that knockback. It was a pure healer challenge. Get the group back up before it fires its rockets.

The fact that the droid was just outside the entrance, not deep inside as a huge boss, bodes well for the game's complexity at raid level.

one thing that got me nervous was right at the beggining when Dr. Ray said testing would be over the next several months...I was like okay several so we know beta tests weekends are going sept-oct and they are releasing in holiday 2011. It got me thinking he could have said a couple and then Nov fits in with that Fry's release date leak rumor of Nov 22, but when I heard several I was like woah wait a tick sounds like christmas time. I might just be over analyzing his words and jumping the gun though and I really hope the game comes out at the end of Nov. Sorry to do another release date speculation post. I guess I can be patient and wait for them to polish the game up nice and shiny for the best launch possible.

Yet no word on when european beta will begin, atm it seems to be a few lucky magid survey folks only, sad for a press conference at a show this big.

We also must not forget a DELAY in terms of the release date....it can easily get pushed back a few more months. I dont think I have seen any MMO that on said release , they released it. There was always a delay. im thinking 2012 on this puppy

That was staggering. I was struck by how good the animations looked.

You could definitely see the 'raid structure' as he went through the classes/specs briefly. Such a good thing to show, probably the best thing since they announced Operations.

    Sadly quit :/

yeah it looked clean. The raid frames didn't seem to take up too much space or get in the way of the action. It looked like it was going to provide a nice challenge. I might have missed it but did any of the players try to get around behind the boss or were they unable to do that? Just wondering if they can avoid the stun or the aoe from the missles if they get behind. I saw what looked like an aoe effect for the knockback that looked like it covered 360 but wasn't sure about the stun being a frontal cone or having a range. can't really get a clear view of the back but after further review it does look like 360. Also while watching this I noticed the imp agent calling in the air strike and it dawned on me hey their ship got shot down and everyone abandoned it how the heck is the agent calling for an air strike? Also is that ability able to be used in doors?

For your first question - suspension of disbelief. No idea on the second, though it wouldn't surprise me if it was outdoors only.

I dislike using 'realistic' means to try and justify how abilities should work. Its a fantasy/sci-fi ! A technomage did it.

If you want some plausible ones though, maybe its done by a droid or drone which has nothing to do with a ship in orbit. Maybe it works indoors because said droid is something the agent throws when he casts it, instead of being something up really high!

    Sadly quit :/

anyone else notice the agent in the trailer that appeared to be doing a puzzle while a group defended him?
  • #23 Odin_Kira
That's a great game play option. Reminds me of slicing terminals in KOTOR.

They failed to get group heals out in time, looked like. It didn't take long to wipe after that. Good stuff!

Also, that big, bad Rakata prisoner should be a handful.
  • #40 Jaramukhti
I loved that. Healer challenges can be the most fun, but also the most nail-biting, aspect of a raid.
  • #17 Dejarik
Well after they took on the turrets pretty easily I thought it was all a bit straightforward.

However, the big droid kicked their ass and they all looked rather sheepish as Gabe ended their suffering prematurely :)
