This week's Star Wars: The Old Republic Friday Update is a new developer walkthrough showcasing the first major encounter within the Eternity Vault. Both Imperial and Republic players will be able to experience this end-game Operation. Groups of 8 or 16 players will delve into this mysterious location on the planet Belsavis and attempt to confront an ancient force-wielder that threatens the entire galaxy. Be sure to continue watching after the walkthrough ends to see additional footage of the Operation beyond the first encounter.
Official DevTracker post and video embed follows the jump, and a dissection in progress is enclosed in the gallery below.

Throughout the week of GamesCom, those who stopped by the EA booth had the opportunity to see a live demonstration of the Eternity Vault, one of the high-level Operations in Star Wars: The Old Republic. In it a group of Imperial heroes are sent to investigate an ancient prison that is believed to hold a powerful and deadly threat to the Empire.
We don't want the people who couldn't make it to Cologne to miss out. In our new video, BioWare's Dallas Dickinson guides you through the opening minutes of the Eternity Vault as he provides commentary on the action. Check it out and be sure to visit our Twitter and Facebook pages for all the latest news and updates on The Old Republic.

Posted 8/26/2011 8:06:40 PMAll that being said, if the people complaining where really paying attention, you would have seen the other mechanics that come into play later on in the fight. Also, the fact people are all standing in front of the boss suggests that the knock back damage may be shared among the entire raid - or purely aesthetic as stated before.

Posted 8/26/2011 7:38:24 PMAn easy example would be for the rockets to be able to destroy what's left of the turrets with enough hits. That would force you to take the boss down quickly since you could only go through a couple cycles before you're left high and dry with no cover. It would be easy to tune that mechanic with difficulty by giving the towers more hit points the easier it gets.
