Dont get me wrong I believe that is a perfect date. 4 days off to play it. I just dont see it being a date to use due to what if something does go wrong is all. Then they have to be at work during a time that they should be with their families is all

Im too lazy to go find the link but I swear there was an EA call today with Eric Brown about this and he made mention of the RDA coming at the end of sept w/ release 8 weeks later so that 10 weeks on Vgcharts makes sense to me. 11-22-11 a day which shall live in infamy!

What the deuce, Skyrim overtook Swtor? Regardless, I agree with jawbrk117 that once we get a solid date, preorder numbers are bound to rise again

there are a lot of people holding of their ordering till a date is announced. However those people should re-think their approach.

One, these numbers are only retail. None of the Origin or EU orderes are included. the EU will be a huge market as they always are for MMOs. My guess right now is that actual preorders are closer to 800K+.

Two, Bioware/EA have already declared that they will limit the launch numbers. My guess is that they are going to pick a nice round number, can you say 1 million? If that is the case, the ones that hold out for a date may be stuck waiting on the second round of sales to get their play started.

All in all, I'm thinking it's an order of magnitude stupid to "hold out" for a date.

I certainly don't want to add to the hype but I do know that Gamestop has changed their release date from January 3rd, 2012 to November 22nd of 2011 (approximately 10 weeks from now). I think these preorder numbers will increase exponentially once an official release date has been announced.

Agreed. Lack of release date is hurting current pre-order sales. The pre-orders will surge as soon as they announce an RD.

With Gears of War 3 dropping tomorrow, there's no real surprise that there was a surge in their sales ...
