SWTOR Release Date Announced at Eurogamer



BREAKING: BioWare announced December 20, 2011 for US and December 22 for EU as release date for Star Wars: The Old Republic.

BioWare co-founders Dr. Ray Muzyka and Dr. Greg Zeschuk made the announcement during their keynote address at Eurogamer Expo in London, UK. Dr. Muzyka said this of the announcement:
This is an incredible moment for everyone at BioWare and our partners at LucasArts who have dedicated their lives to build this extraordinary game. We appreciate the patience from the millions of fans who have been waiting for the games release.

In addition to the release date, BioWare also announced the subscription pricing. Read after the break for the full announcement from the official site.

    1. SWG servers close Dec. 15th

    2. SWTOR early access begins Dec 15th or 16th.

    3. SWTOR official release Dec 20th.

    Works out kind of nicely for me. There's no way I'm playing the week leading up to Christmas. So, I can let the initial mad rush subside for 2 or 3 weeks and slide in with the secondary mad rush.

    well, technically, now 150 comments. Happy holidays everyone. Even if you aren't religious, I think opening day of TOR counts as a holiday.

    This will be a great holiday after all :) been following this game since -08- whats 2 or so months more please.... All the negativity has been a bit shocking though guess you cant please everyone lol people are so fickle. Look foward to playing !!! cheers BIOWARE

    Never be shocked at the ability for human beings to find something about which to complain. Griping is what humans do best - which is kind of sad, when you really think about it.

    Release date and subscription pricing. What more could we want? Oh, yeah. NDA lift. I want to make sure BioWare didn't screw themselves by setting a date - hopefully, they've delayed long enough for the game to be as polished as possible at release, but in order to know that, we need comprehensive tester feedback.

    I was only making a friendly reminder before but it seems that you are instead role playing a lovable dictator, some one we should like, right?

    I would send a private message but I can't do that. So I think this is passed the point of interest unless you want to 'play' along. I can try to role play something as well. Generate some hate or is that the point? :) I think I get it now.
