Eurogamer Expo 2011: 20 Minute Jedi Sage Huttball Gameplay

We recorded a full 20 minute play-through of the Huttball Warzone at Eurogamer Expo with a Jedi Sage character piloted by our very own Dover. The embed of the full high definition video is available after the jump, and Snodge chimes in throughout to offer some funny British commentary of Dover's actions in game.

A dissection of the video is already available in the media gallery below. As with all dissections, we will not reference prior dissection content mentioned in past dissections unless otherwise important. Feel free to offer your own items that you might notice to the comments section of this post and we will credit significant finds.

Like any game involving a ball, it's easy to play, but hard to master. Practice, Practice, Practice.

    Pathos.

P.S. Is it just me, or does the left side of the preview pic for the video kinda resemble a G15 Keyboard, with an LCD in the middle?

Once you a handful of players who know their class and the game, I bet you'll start to see some real strategies develop besides "mob the guy with the ball till he dies". The game may appear mobile, and it is, but I bet if you have a cover class (of any class, for that matter) that knows the route that his carrier or the enemy carrier is likely to take, then you can pick a good vantage point to set up shop and snipe, support or generally be devious.

For example, when Dover used his stun while the opposing ball carrier was on the fire grate. That is just beautiful.

Another great point was just after he scored, he ran back up the main ramp and was able to support his ball carrier who was already on his way back for a second score. Getting those heals off from relative safety was clutch, but it may have been even better had his ball carrier buddy passed it up to Dover and effectively nullified half the enemy players who were glued to his tail. Then it just would have been a force speed run back down across the line.

Scoring 1/3 of the touchdowns in the match isn't too shabby.

I think you did decently Dover, your learning curve was pretty decent. And with more playtime i'm sure you would have better timed AOE knockbacks, and better dps etc. So all in all, nice to see someone not completely retarted playing the game, can't forget some of the earlier huttball video's with people failing to acid, fire etc.

I will say this, Dover's playthrough gave quite an insight on some tactics that could be used. I especially liked it when he used a crowed control ability right when the person steps on the fire vents, then BAM!! flame on :D. Huttball is going to get real interesting once people know their characters.

Yup, I was almost wondering why it didn't happen more. It is one of those really effective tactics.

    Charming... yes? http://imgur.com/r6WrI

So is that "Press spacebar to continue" going to be on every loading screen? :(
  • #22 Snodge
Not sure. I didn't think to ask anyone about it, but I think it is there due to some story information being given and letting you have time to read it. I hope it will only be used when necessary, rather than all the time, but we'll see.

Thanks for the vid, congrats on the touchdown. I don't know why the hell they had to invent a new language for this game, but that's annoying. I guess it's fun for those who are willing to clog their mind with something that is TOTALLY useless outside of this game.

Aurebesh is far from new. And it's already used in SWG and Clone Wars Adventures, not to mention a load of other places, like the movies...

The Star Wars alphabet wasn't invented for this game.

i hope this is part of one of the class missions, except it won't be pvp of course. but like a situation where your character is caught and forced into one of these games with a bunch of AI

Sometimes Dover is competent, sometimes he WALKS STRAIGHT THROUGH THE ACID PIT.
