New Regional Testing Invites Sent

The official Star Wars: The Old Republic game testing thread was recently updated with new information. Allison Berryman provides the details concerning a very specific regional based test.

Allison Berryman
Update! We're sending out some testing invites today. Here's the information about them:

Sent Oct. 11: California Data Center Test

This test is a small, limited-time test including testers from New Zealand and Australia. Data from this test will be used to inform decisions about the launch of the game in Oceanic regions. We currently have no updates regarding the launch of the game in these or other territories, but will provide information as it becomes available.
  • Who was invited: Testers from the USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia

  • What was sent: California Data Center testing invites

  • Server locations: West Coast USA

  • Invite status: All invites in this batch are now sent

This marks the first time, that we know, of invites sent to regions outside those the game will launch in. As always, you can be sure that when more information becomes available on game testing that we will bring it to you as it happens.

I got an invite today! Was just flicking through my daily websites and saw the DH update on Au testing - checked my email and got a sweeeet suprise. Have downloaded nearly 30GB so far for the install... May have to up my DL plan for this month...

So what do you guys think determined the test selection? I ordered the CE and have a pretty sweet rig so am not sure which of the 2 got me the inv. Am just happy to have a crack at the intro worlds and get a feel of how each class might play - boo to no Austrilasia events

The random nature of the testing "pull" is what got you in. Had nothing to do with your CE purchase or your "rig". It's all completely 100% random, like winning the lottery.

Ah KK. Winning+1 then. Might go get a lottery ticket then if my lucks in

Congratz to all Australians! And French and germans as well. I hope they will announce testing in the Scandinavian zone too. Can't be part of Britain since we are 2h apart. Right now we're in the CET zone but I really wouldn't like to be playing on a French or German server can't speak thoose languages. Would be better with a Swedish server, but that probably wouldn't happen since it didn't happen in WoW.

Well I will be able to play in the Early Access but that is far away.

Imperial Agent: Check, Trooper: Check, Bounty Hunter: Check, Smuggler: Check!!

Who needs force powers when you got a Blaster at your side. Cool

Argggh! Frantic trawling of the spam folders has turned up empty ... guess I got overexcited about this sliver of hope crawling into the red zone!

But on that note, are there any unofficial plans for oceanic players who have preordered to band towards particular servers - ensure a critical mass of players in "our" prime-time?

yer all red zone guilds have created a daisy chain i tried finding the link that explains it in more detail but couldnt basically though their trying to use the phase 2 system to ally and enemy all the redzone guilds together.

I was hoping for more server info period I am in the midwest and WOW always had CST servers. I hope we dont get left out. Because if so then we are forced to play an hour ahead or 2hrs behind.

They also sent out a batch to the France/Germany community for general testing on the EU servers.

Sent Oct. 11: General Game Testing Invites

What was sent: General Game Testing invites
    Server locations: EU servers

Are they going to put German and French servers? Or is that not planned for launch?

From what I understand, Europe will be serviced out of the Ireland Data Center. They'll have customer service reps who speak various languages working from there.
