Other: Multi-player space combat. Proper PvP combat would be ideal, but even co-op tunnel-style would be better than single-player. Squadrons and fleets are prevalent throughout the movies.

I like dual-speccing within an AC, but I hate the idea of switching your AC.
  • #87 Jesserak
Dual-Speccing within AC would be the best way to go.
  • #90 Exile
Nope, a true duel spec - 2 specs within our Ac for most Ac's is worthless.

I was under the impression that a phone app for SWTOR was already being developed for launch, and not a wall of crazy thing. I think the quote from a recent-ish Q&A about a phone app was "It will be something unlike what we have seen in the past" along with its confirmation, but I do not remember the specifics on if it was for launch or not.

In today's market and phone lifestyles of this generation it will be a crucial thing to get in at least close to launch.

Question not related to the polls: Any knowledge concerning surnames? and if any, how they work? during character creation, or an ingame feature like in WAR?

Im curious how the DH team feels Bioware should handel a legendary system? I personaly feel that with such a strong companion system already embedded in the game that they should create a "Legendary companion system". I think it would be amazingly epic for a hard working guild to be able to work together in order to reach this accomplishment where all member can reap the benefits. For example instead of an entire guild working for one member to weild a super rare weapon, the whole guild can be granted access to a"Legendary Companion" such as a rare alien race, or just a face that would stand out in a community town. I feel this system would be viable because you could flaunt your "Legendary Companion" around town the same way you would a weapon. I would love to hear the team's comments as well as the other members of this sites opinions:] I hope this will be used as a viewer question on the show!

Problem would be that.. in 6month post launch.. EVERYONE will be running around with such a companion. I love how they give us the ability to upgrade equipment so that everyone dosnt look alike at max lvl.
Adding to my comment: I know we get a tool to alter complanion apperance and as such they wont all look alike.. but still.
IF you want my "vote" for a "legendary companion" it should be some kind of guild "crafter droid". One that is stationary on your ship and gives you a bonus to whatever crafting you chose. That would be really cool. There will be loads of ways to "show off" besides for the companions.
(ALWAYS hated the games where they give you vanity pets.. I know we get a few in SWTOR.. (mouse droids ect) But meh.. if I wanna look cool I would want it to be ME that looked cool.. and not some companion at my side.)
    My view anyway..

The Crafting bonus you mentioned is a great idea:]

This was just a personal creative idea that i felt could complement SWTOR because of the already existent companion system in game. To be honest its lame grinding in a guild for one player to reap the rewards, and i felt this could be a successful way of approaching that shortcoming. NOT EVERYONE wil be running around with this companion post launch, only individuals involved in successful pve guilds that have the ability to obtain the "Legendary Companion"

I cannot see BioWare implementing Guild capital ships, As much as I love the concept, it would be bad for a developing community. If you and your guildies can access all the services you need like auction house, access to flashpoints and operations from your guild ship why would you ever leave?
OK, you have to go planet-side for quests and resource gathering but you would be unlikely to visit a ground based social hub when your friends are waiting for you in orbit. It might even curb enthusiasm for exploration and the opportunities for open world PvP encounters will drift away to nothing.
On a plus side, open PvP between capital ships, with guild personal ships flying escort, do fire the blood. Imagine the deep rumble of those massive ion engines, guild mates rushing to their fighter to scramble and defend the ship, others manning weapons, navigation, tactical and helm positions. Raiding parties able to use boarding pods to penetrate an enemy hull and storm the bridge of an opponents ship. These are exciting dreams, but it will not be easy for BioWare to implement. To do it properly, which is the only way we players would accept it, it requires the 3D free roam space environment and that would become another game separate from the ground based content. I think the community would be split in two.

So, how soon can they get it in after launch? ;o)

guild cities in AoC didn't prevent people from clustering around the main AH. i could care less if it did tbh, there wasn't all that much "community" activity going on anyway, besides standing around having your phat lewts being admired while queuing for instanced pvp. i'll take guild capital ships over that routine any day.

on that note, BW could do it w/o a proper space combat game. it would be preferable to expand on it and have it be a phase in the guild vs. guild pvp match, however, it can be simulated via cut scenes and get right to the boarding action, assault style, like Voidstar. the pvp would take place entirely on the "ground" so to speak. it would be easy to implement in this way and, perhaps, flesh it out with a space combat expac down the road.

Make a Warzone out of it.. Capital Ship vs Capital Ship. Wont be guild controlled tho as that would limit the number of players. Could be cool to control turrets, ships, landing parties ect. Mission based Warzone: Capture the enamy Cap. ship by killing its captain and control the bridge. With sub quests to sabotage the reactor core to cripple ship gun batteries ect.

As for the Cap. Ships taking over social hubs.. I fear that too. You cant compare SWTOR to AoC here.
Social Hubs are important to MMOs.. not for all but for alot of people. IF a Cap ship is a future addon to the game it should atleast have limitations so that hubs are still a prefered meeting place.

My view: No capital ships for launch. Maybe some time in the future.. but right now I would prefer a working, bugfree game for the 20/12 rather than some last minute addon to the game ;)

UI addons. One of the reason WoW is so popular is because Blizzard lets you customize the UI to your liking. With a 5+ million subscriber base, there's no way to come up with the perfect UI. Someone will always dislike it.

Hence the ability to customize the UI to your own needs goes such a long way to customer satisfaction.

    Spot on!

I'm a mod whore and I hope they don't put them in the game. If they do limit it to only cosmetic issues with the UI. No target assist, no heal assist, no meters, no boss stage announcements.
