Darth Hater at Fan Site Summit Round 2



With a little less than two months remaining until launch, BioWare is hosting a Fan Site Summit in Austin, Texas on November 6 through the 8th. Darth Hater is participating in the event, and we will once again provide in-depth coverage of the event. In attendance at this year's Fan Site Summit will be Emlaeh and Sado from our staff. At the summit in April, we were able to interview several developers, get some hands on time with the Bounty Hunter and Imperial Agent and take down members of the fan site community during hands on PVP sessions of the Alderaan Warzone.

We look forward to more of the same, and as we approach the games launch, BioWare has new information to reveal as well. Below you will find a list of fan sites who have announced their attendance.

    Ilum is the last thing I can think about that I'd really like to know more about. Especially that open pvp zone.

    I'm sure these are all great podcasts, but it's very disappointing that The Holocron didn't get an invite, while other podcasts that I've never heard of are on the list.

    I'll give you the benefit on this one seeing as your a cubs fan. (I'm a season ticket holder myself) So I will assume, like most of us cubs fans, that your bitter and impatient hence the tone in your post.

    Indeed. But we'll have to wait and see what DH can do. I'm cautiously optimistic. As far as my comment is concerned, it's mostly just frustration that Bioware stubbornly upholds their obnoxious NDA when with 10 minutes and a search engine, you can find out every significant detail about this game. 4 years of trickling infomation for a game that you're ridiculously excited for starts to grind on you. I meant the comment as a slight to DH, but it's not their fault, they're just following the rules. My apologies for the crass, short-sighted remark.

    Which site? You mean a leaker site? They don't need the invite, since they have plenty of NDA breaking content. If they want the official stuff, they can get it second-and from sites like this.

    And it's TOR not ToR. We ain't WoW. The O in TOR is Old, like The Old Republic, not lowercase.

    49 days and counting until all sites attending become an irrelevance.

    Still, I'm sure you'll all really put them on the spot about the burning issues like "what is the game actually like beyond level 15?" and not take no for an answer just because you're getting a free flight, food, drink and hotel rooms.

    Remind me again, when does "we can't talk about that yet" cease to be an acceptable response? 49 days?

    If the fan sites become "obsolete", the purpose of the summit will be defeated as there will continue to be summits post-launch. The Community Team at Bioware isn't going away with the launch of TOR. They will still have a lot of work to do.

    If you can do a better job, then go do it. Otherwise, you're obviously burnt out from hype/issues you have with coverage/the way you deem information to be released. Why don't you take a step back and play Arkham City or Skyrim or something in the meantime?

    Chances are we'll get the info before then so people have time to do all their talent building and whatnot.
