Fan Site Summit 2: Q&A Audio

During this week's Fan Site Summit, BioWare held several Q&As with the community there at the event. Developers such as Gabe Amatangelo, Georg Zoeller and James Ohlen all gave their own unique Q&As. Thanks to BioWare, we now have some very swanky audio to listen to and enjoy. The Q&As are consolidated on this page for your convience.

Why is it that I can not see any of these QA's audio feeds?

I never really understood just how intelligent GZ is. He is very good at answering questions in a very intelligent manner. Thanks for the links.

I thought it was pretty interesting that Coruscant and Kaas City were intended to be the social centers of each faction and that it simply "wasn't working" so they added the space station "hubs". While I respect them analyzing data and making changes to help the game, this type of re-design does make me a bit nervous. Also I fear those iconic planets like Coruscant will end up being mostly empty.

I was a little disheartened to hear that Cyborgs are a definite species on release. Seems a little lame. As a friend of mine put it, "you're not born a cyborg ... cyborg is a template you place on top of a legitimate species," and although I gave him a hard time about it, I totally agree.

    Oh well ...

... not all who wander are lost ...

As far as rewards go, we previously learned that players will be able to earn experience, Valor (PvP rank XP), and of course, gear, through participation in World PvP. Information coming out of the latest Fansite Summit has confirmed two additional rewards: a faction-wide buff and the presence of rare resources. The faction-wide buff, which can stack a certain amount of times, allows players to earn additional Valor through any form of PvP, including Warzones. This is pretty neat for players who for one reason or another cannot or do not wish to participate in the big Open World battles, as they will still benefit from the buff. Additionally, it looks like the PvE folk may be somewhat dependent on us brutish PvP types since Ilums PvP area will feature rare resources, granting a tangible benefit to everyone in your faction, regardless of their stance on PvP, for holding onto the zone.

disappointed to here confirmation that the "open world" (persistent) pvp planet battle won't have any meta game impact. seems (to me) like a missed opportunity to blend some sand box elements into a theme park game. i really hope they reconsider this at some point. 1-2-3-4 what the hell we fightin' for???

Hmm... I suppose the data collecting and telemetrics will stay in the game after release. I don't have any problem with it, just a technical worry: I heard and read from many sources that the client hogges up a lot of CPU right now, and that's probably due to the metrics data collection (2 .exe processes).
