This week's Star Wars: The Old Republic Friday Update gives us the Jedi Consular progression video. The video features a female Mirialan, and showcases skills and armor from both of the Consular's advanced classes. In this video, a Jedi Shadow clad in armored robes showcases an in-combat stealth ability, as well as what appears to be a damage absorption skill. The Jedi Sage features high-powered telekinetic attacks and a resurrection ability, while favoring more elaborate robes.

Posted 11/26/2011 2:44:54 AMFail. The video does not end with the Consular walking away from an explosion. I'm very disappointed in this class.

Posted 11/25/2011 9:10:49 PMDidn't make me want to play the class, but I thought the video was decent. I am sure that Bioware expected everybody to be playing the beta instead of watching for a friday update. As for me, my computer loads it up, but is too slow to play it:( Its not even decent enough to try to force my way through it.

Posted 11/25/2011 7:13:10 PMSeems like the worst progression video I have seen. Doesn't make me want to play the class like all the other videos have.

The link is fixed, now I've seen the video.
What's the world shown in the first Sage bit? The ruins look Korriban, but Consulars can't go there, plus the forests.
And what sort of alien was that in the second Sage bit? He was huge! (Also saw a Neimoidian alongside the big guy.)

Posted 11/25/2011 8:31:01 PMThat wasn't a neimoidian, he was a Duros.

Posted 11/25/2011 3:49:25 PMI don't know, maybe I'm just biased against the class, but this video wasn't something that got me impressed. However I really loved the first Sage set, the second seemed a bit over the top, she bloodly looked more like Queen Amidala, which I suppose was what they were aiming for. But still, it was far too blingy for an ascete Jedi.
The presentation of the abilities was competent, but nothing I got worked up about. Other than she killed an Imperial Agent Sniper. Boooo, we all know it would be the other way around.
We saw what a Consular can do, and that was that. Did like the elevator ambush, that was the one part that I felt had the right direction.

Posted 11/25/2011 5:01:29 PMCan't shoot what you can't see! You are right about the video, though. The costumes range from stupid hats, to hobo suits, to elegant nightgowns. I'm not sure if I want to throw money at them or hold the door open. Just no way to make these look good. Expect to see everyone wearing the same handful of presentable robes, like the first shadow.

Posted 11/25/2011 3:46:23 PMThe higher level Sage armor reminds me of the outfits of Queen Amidala. If that's what the female armor looks like, what does the male armor look like?!

Posted 11/28/2011 9:49:17 AMI only played till about level 15 so didn't see much variety in apparel, but I hope we have a wide variety of options. Even at level 50 all epic'd out I want my toons to dress low key; I don't want to have to wear bling like in wow. (The ONE thing that almost makes me want to play wow again is transmogrify. BloodFang forever!)
