James Ohlen Teases Post Launch Content: Flashpoint and Expanded Operation

With Star Wars: The Old Republic past its initial launch day, James Ohlen took the opportunity to tease upcomming post-launch content in the form of a new Flashpoint and an expansion to an existing Operation (Kragga's Palace). Ohlen relayed his comments through the new community news feature that has seen a spree of posts today stating the following:

James OhlenNext month we're going to be releasing a new Flashpoint and an expanded Operation. The new Flashpoint involves a plague that could have significant repercussions across the galaxy. It takes place on a brand new world and involves some pretty epic battles. I can’t go into much detail, but be prepared for something different. The expanded Operation takes the existing Karagga’s palace scenario and more than triples it in size. It includes three new boss monsters and some pretty epic set pieces.

Ohlen also included a little teaser image of one of the bosses which can be viewed after the jump. For the community news feature in full, visit the official SWTOR site.

it seems that the wow can not escape the destiny of comparison between it and the star wars the old republic
Can you find cheaper price than this swtor credits at www.swtorcreditus.com . Seems weird to me that the Sentinel class dosent get any of these abilities .Sentinels back in the KOTR games were a balance of meele and force users. Seems to me that one of these spells would help the Sentinel in closing the gap after being knocked back stunned, broken stun and re snared stunned again. Also fits into the fact that they are supposed to be acrobatic and fast.

To ge the most rewarding Gear and items, you should team up with your ally to raid the Flashpoints. This is the most dangerous missions in the galaxy while the rewards here are some of the most powerful you'll find swtor power leveling.
First up,There are currently a couple known flashpoints. For the Galactic Republic, very early in the game, you will come across ‘The Esseles’ flashpoint. Midway through, there’s the Taral V. For the Sith Empire, there’s first ‘The Black Talon’ early on and then ‘Boarding Party’ half way through.

It's nice to see BW so busy making additions to the game.

Though I'd rather they focus on improving the UI and overall game functionality since there's already plenty of content. New flashpoints/operations could wait another month or two I guess.

    Just my $0.2

Last I checked this was supposed to be a discussion post regarding the fact that the game just launched and Bioware has already said, " Hey! I know we just launched but here is a major content patch like right away!! And this is how we do things!" ??? I R CONFUSED. How one moron who doesn't understand the P2P model derails this thread.

Ok lets sum up.... guy who origionaly posted is a moron and deserves wow. 2nd SWTOR is like not even a week old, is a fantastic game with its share of growing pains early and said hey guys guess what here is a content patch that's coming in a few weeks. And this is how we do things here at Bio ! ware..... regular updates to the game..... unlike that other game that promised," more content more often and in smaller bite sized chunks". When the reality was 8 months later 7 bosses, then 6 months later 8 bosses which 2 were the same and 6 of them re skinned models.

So to sum up this announcement from bioware just tells me the player that they did me and all the fans right. We got what we always wanted.... a killer star wars game, thats an mmo.

Keep up the good work Bioware

Oh, I have the CE, but I am unable to play due to the "You have to give us money so you can use what was toted as free" clause. If they want to be honest with the customer, they should give you a two for one deal on a month subscription.

You realize this is the case with every p2p mmo since like ever right?

Didn't happen with WoW when I bought it. Maybe I'm just special like that.

You tend to lose all sympathy anyone can have for you when you mention " Well WoW did it this way, or WoW does it like this." This isn't World of Warcraft, this is Star Wars: The Old Republic.  If you don't like the model that was set up by EA/BioWare, then don't play the game, pure and simple.

There seems to be many people who complain and think that all of a sudden Bioware will change their plans for the vocal minority.  This isn't some politcal rally, this is a business.  The vocal minority don't get things changed, they change things when the vocal minority becomes the vocal majority of customers.

If you cannot afford to put a credit card, or buy a time card on the game, then why did you spend the $50 or more for a game?  This isn't a offline game, on the box it clearly states "*Online Subscription Required*".  It's not EA/Bioware's fault they are a business and not a charity, nor is it their fault that you failed to read all of the fine print.

Don't come here and complain about the game, go to another game's forums and whine there.

Your free month comes with the purchase of the subscription. So, If you buy a time card for say, 90 days, you'll actually get 120 days of free play time. Why? Because it's bad business for them to do otherwise. And yes, WoW did do this to you when they launched. Every MMO does. WoW may have tried to woo you back later with free time that you didn't have to re-sub for, but not at their launch. They need subs, this is how they encourage people on the fence about the game to sub.

I'm starting to wonder if the "giant robot boss" is going to happen all the time. I get that it is easier to fight a giant thing than a normal sized thing but I don't remember giant robot fights in the Star Wars movies.

Luke solo raided an AT-AT in TESB

As in lets say......dragons in fantasy MMO's?  Sure there are going to be giant robot bosses.  They have tons you can do with them.  But hoenstly in most flashpoints I've played giant robot bosses are NOT the norm.  I see tons more Jedi/Sith bosses then giant robots.....

You need to remember this is thousands of years before the star wars movies, giving the devlopment team pleanty of room for story lines and plots. Secondly, this game has just luanched, give them a bit of time, i'm sure they have amazing things planned. :)

    Hoth.

I'd say Star Wars has a faly iconic giant robot battle.

As far as I know Karagga's Palace currently ends after the rancor boss, so does this extension mean we'll get to finish the place, fighting Karagga himself in his giant robot?
