Posted 12/28/2011 10:11:12 AMI notice with the gathering change, a lot of the nodes have Aurebesh above them that says "Valid Sample", like BioWare is making sure that we know that the nodes do in fact work.

Posted 12/28/2011 9:12:38 AMI've encountered a couple of Slicing Nodes which appear but can't be accessed, though in this case, they highlight when moused over. Much rarer than before.
Disappointing to learn that Slicing has been nerfed (it was how my main character got riding), but I do have to admit I was spamming the missions non-stop near the end of 24 to try to get that last 10k (poor T7 must need his servos replaced).
I guess we'll need to see how much this change results in money made. Makes me appreciate my STAP though.

Posted 12/27/2011 3:28:57 PMI had only truly hoped for the gathering fix, the Taris fix (not experienced it myself, but reading about it made me support the move) and my person gripe; the physical cover bug. It must be on their radar, it can be a serious thing if you are not savvy with forums or similar. The game encourages physical cover (in it's most basic form it even autoselects for you), but when you are in it it punishes you. I use my little cover screen behind cover for the same effect, but how many really do that? Or know that you can?
I hope it will be fixed soon, or that they are at least trying to fix it.

Posted 12/27/2011 2:18:57 PMWelcome to all the other professions. It's risk vs. reward. I had to put in money to do Underworld missions, you didn't see me crying or quitting it.

Posted 12/27/2011 1:54:48 PMTo the people worried about slicing: I had slicing maxed in a few days and could make 10k+ in a few hours not paying close attetion to what I was doing with only 2 compaionons. For the long term health of the economy (Aka not making everyone constantly spam slicing to afford things) it needed to be toned back. I'm sure you'll still make money just not as much.

Posted 12/27/2011 12:41:28 PMFor an MMO during the Business Day is exactly when you want to do your patches. You want to give you clients prior warning or have a holy day for that (What WoW did with Tuesdays). You don't want to be patching from 6p-12am because those are Prime MMO times. When people are home from work at most of your player base is on.
Yeah this patches addresses a few issues but what about hte Mandolarian Raid that I did last night that we only got loot from the last boss. Thats it. For how long it was in testting I would shutter to think what the Early beta builds looked like.
On the Slicing thing, tuning down the amount earned sort of makes the Profession useless. It be like giving no Dark/Lightside points to Diplomacy. The companion gives and Augments are nice but lets be frank. Of a guild of 100 people I haven't found one that has an Augment slot yet so whats the point of those low level augments? (Though are highest is a 40.)

Posted 12/27/2011 12:29:06 PMWhy are so many people expecting every bug to be fixed right now. I played wow for the better part of 6 years, since Vanilla, and they STILL have bugs from vanilla that are not fixed in CATA, reall annoying and terrible bugs. Bioware is approaching this properly, fixing bugs in a disciplined manner instead of frantically waiving their arms in the air and fix things that screw other things up that will never get fixed -> see WoW.

Posted 12/27/2011 11:36:53 AMGive it time. They will fix things.
Sounds like most of the people on the SWTOR forums and other forums are new to being at the beginning of an MMO launch.
Anyone remember the week long World of Warcraft patches? I do.
I was sad panda then :(
