Patch Notes 1.1.0 b 1/24/2012

Today's patch notes as provided by the Offical Site; some minor bug fixes, more after the jump!

1.1.0b Patch Notes - 1/24/2012

General

  • Implemented optimizations to improve performance on Republic and Imperial Fleets.

Classes and Combat

  • Significantly improved the delay when activating player abilities, particularly when in lower framerate situations. This allows for improved ability responsiveness in hectic combat situations.

Operations

General

  • Operations will no longer allow more than 16 Operations Group members to enter concurrently.

Karagga's Palace

  • Operations Groups will no longer be forced to reset the Operation if the group wipes when attempting to defeat G4-B3 Heavy Fabricator.
  • Fixed an exploit that would allow players to repeatedly loot the chest after defeating Jarg and Sorno.

Miscellaneous Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue that could cause graphical inconsistencies, which most often manifested as random screen "flickering."

I'd like to ask this. Has anyone noticed mobs doing less dmg overall?

Or maybe have tanks noticed that they are taking less dmg through mitigation stats?

I'm just curious cause today I've noticed I can take on several strongs without my healer companion and without any CC or stuns and end the fight with basically full health as an assassin tank.

If you know what "Force Monkeys" is, I like you.

If you had to google it, don't waste my time.

This will be so nice. Delays were incredibly annoying in PVP...

I'm already noticing the difference. Before the patch, I was lagging so much it was insane. I still lag a little bit when there are, say 50 people on the screen with me (but who wouldn't?). However, there are also times when it runs as smooth as silk. That never happened before the patch.

Ability responses better.  Still need that fix on showing an ability as being ready when it is still on CD,  Republic Fleet still seemed to have slow framerate, but I think that is my anemic memory.

Wish they could find a solution for the periodic 6 digit latency that affects some of us, but overall gameplay is an improvement over yesterday.

Small bug fixes? You are extremely overestimating the importance of ability response updates.

Its better, but not completely fixed yet. Thank god they are working on it though.

    I blame Heisenberg.

  • #3 Strongsadd

I took this for a spin this morning, ability response appears to be better.

Huge improvement in Warzone performance after this patch. Yay! Now... Resolve bar fixes. GO.

I wonder how they fix performance issues. Is it housecleaning or what exactly are they doing to fix those issues?

Either way, working really well even now as more people are logging on. I did a quick Graphics reset (moving Client_Settings.ini + Graphics_Mirror.ini  Starting client setting options @ Char Select screen Log in) and it really is like a new game on my mediocre-at-best machine.

anyone able to give a more detailed how too for what this guy did i am interested in trying this myself

Edit: apologies of the bad formatting posting from cell

Pure speculation - but probably tweaking the engine, which has been stated to have been incomplete when they (BioWare) purchased it. This is all on the word of the engineers that created it, though, so speculation at best.

Not had a chance to test it. Is it really that much of an improvement? Also does it solve the issue of the game not seeing you in the right position when you try and push someone back (resulting in them doing in a totally random direction).

Although I know there is a fudamental problem with the way the server/client relationship that means there will always be an issue with knockback or any "skill" abilities I had hoped (esspecialy since i have had more issues with this problem when in larger scale PvP fights) that a knock on effect would be to improve this issue.

The fact it doesn't is a shame but I hope they look into it at some point in the future.

HUGE improvement, but not really on the knockback lottery.

I've been able to actually use Maul a lot more. And I went from a consistent 5FPS to 60FPS. They did something right.
